I was just about to give up that would ever get this model, so was very relieved to have found this now discontinued model as re-furbished. I've had many refurbished bargains (cell-phones, laptop and others) in the past and they all have performed well.

I've not yet used this one, but I wanted to say how pleased I am with the processor quality of what I have received. It really does look brand new. The pulse feature does seem to be instant and with no slow-start as described in the later model. The knives are very sharp and I like the additional 4-cup bowl that is included to add to the versatility.

My research and the ringing endorsement I read from America's Test Kitchen made my decision going with this re-manufactured model instead of going with KitchenAid's current 13 cup model. ATK compared this model to the Breville Sous Chef Food Processor, 16-Cup and the KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor with ExactSlice System (which had been updated since they reviewed (and disliked) it previously). They compared them all with their current top-rated Cuisinart Custom 14-Cup Food Processor.

They concluded after this test that this 12-Cup KitcheinAid was "Still the one to beat. It's simple to operate, powerful, moderately priced, and offers ample capacity in an intuitive, compact design."

I watch them use this model on both America's Test Kitchen and Cooks Country and have been wanting the same model that they trust and use consistently. Now, thanks to a re-manufactured one, I have one that bore only the smallest of blemishes to the Chef's Accessory Case. Sure it only has a 6 month warranty from KitchenAid, but it beats not having one in the first place.

This food processer does everything I need! I bought it as it was recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I have made bread dough, pie crust, pesto, cut carrots, celery, onions, made salsa and sauces, chopped herbs and in general, really put it through its paces. It is large and bulky, so not for those with small kitchens, but if you make most of your meals from scratch and really love to cook, this is the food processor for you.

Good item. Only sign it is reconditioned is the attachment storage container lid (gray translucent plastic) has a lot of scratches on it-rather disappointing, but the risk you take with reconditioned. The unit itself looks like new.

I like the sturdy base and the blades are extremely sharp. It does slice, chop and shred very well. The only down side is when I shred cheese, there is always a small piece of cheese that can't be shredded and stuck in the gap between blade and the tube.
