Just received the headdress and have not opened the package but seems to be just what I needed and just as advertised

I saw that many individuals stated that the feathers came torn off before they opened the package. However, I think that it might be because most individuals are pulling the hat out of the plastic wrapping backwards, against the feather grain, that might be causing it. That is the only way I can see those feathers coming off.

I went on a canoe trip this last Sunday for the weekend of the 4th and wore this hat, through 2-3 HOURS of mild to slightly heavier rain. Plus we were drinking a bit, which means a little splashing and rough housing occurred, but the hat held together surprisingly awesome. I think there were 3 small yellow/red feathers from the top row that came detached. I honestly bought this hat for a one time use, but I think I'll be able to play Little Minnow all summer long, if not till next spring.

Only issue with the hat: it was rather large for my head. I fixed that by sewing a fold in the stretchy part of the band on the back thought. Just a few quick stitches. This was also such a hit for a themed float trip!!! Plus I was able to get the rain to go away with a non-rain indian dance!

Cheap but effective for the purpose. Bought for Cub Scout ceremony and it looked good and worked fine. Feathers will fall out if care is not taken.

Awesome feather headdress. We bought this for a play my son was in. The feathers were taller than expected, but that made it so much better!! He said it was pretty comfortable to wear too.

A couple feathers fell off but it worked pretty well overall
