So I already have a super high quality fore & aft hat that I bought 14 years ago for $180 but couldn't recommend it to a friend as the company is no longer in business. This elope hat is the perfect solution for anyone seeking an authentic-looking bicorn.
The overall construction is high quality and the material is malleable enough to re-shape as needed. It also has a unique Velcro strap inside the brim so it can accommodate just about any head size up to about 7-3/4. I just wish the color was dark navy blue"¦

I gave it a four star review, because it arrived very quickly, and because for what it is, it's a pretty good product.
What it is, is a very good facsimile of a Napoleonic era military hat, or cover. And if you're doing a production of Les Miserables, or another work from that time period, this is exactly the product you need.
What it is not, is an Admirals cover. Nor is it possible to rework it to make it one. I was trying to make a cover for a senior officer of the Continental Navy. And that was the closest thing I could find. I'm sure there are some out there, but I'll be damned if I can find one.
So in conclusion, if you need a military cover from the Napoleonic era, this is exactly what you want. If you're mounting a production of Les Miserables, this is exactly what you want. If you're looking for a cover that can be reworked, this is definitely not what you want.
