This is the 2nd version I have purchased. I use it in a vacation rental home. The first one lasted about a year but then somebody dropped it when it was full and it broke. I use this to keep cold water in the fridge rather than getting a fridge with a cold water dispenser... much less expensive and takes up less room as well. Other reviewers have complained that unless the lid is removed that the water won't flow ..the simple solution is to just unscrew the lid a quarter turn or to make a pinhole in the lid.
Plenty of water right next to my desk.

Good container for holding drinking water near my workstation. Doesn't smell funny or anything, water tastes the same going into container as when it comes out.
Dispenser tap could be better, it seems fragile. Also it's a bit inconvenient to unscrew the top lid to allow more water flow (pressure equalization), I kind of wish there was a smaller cap just for air, since when the large one is loose it *could* lead to some nasty spills.

Hard to clean

I found that it is very diffiucult to get all of the liquid out of the container when trying to clean it. The tap output level is above the bottom of the container and the fact that to of the container where the lid is is indented below the top of the container so even when you turn the contqiner upside down all the remaining liquid does not come out even when you shake it and repeatedly turn it upside down.

I noticed about week 3, the spout leaked just a bit. I use for my distilled water I make and keep on counter. I was noticing the counter was always wet, but chalked it up to maybe sink water splashed or something. Then I noticed the spout had a small slow leak, so I figured I'd just sit it up when not needing to put water in it or pour water from it. Again, water on counter. I finally took a solid look at it after I filled up and after finding water again on counter and noticing the jug looked almost an inch low. Well, the seam is leaking, not only the spout. Both leak. I made the mistake of not realizing it was actually a piece of trash intimidate 29 of owning it, so can't return. Check for leaks as one person said when you get it, but keep an eye out first couple weeks. I didn't and although it arrived fine, it started leaking quickly. Unless my experience is rare, I wouldn't suggest this jug. Yes it's inexpensive and boa free, but I will be investing in something a bit sturdier. Maybe it's not meant for daily use. Very cheap and not one solid piece of plastic. It's 2 halves connected and clearly not connected well as the seams leak no matter how I sit the jug. Do yourself a favor and buy a better one.

Having twins, buying the 3 gallon water at the store for bottles can add up. I finally decided to buy my own container and benefit from the cheap refills. Saw this one and liked all the positive feedback. I will update this ad time goes by but for now I am very pleased and satisfied with this purchase. Just remember to twist the cap loose a little too help with water flow. Also you can dispense the water by both pulling the lever up OR pushing the lever down which is very convenient. No leaks so far.
