Potentially great knife if not for the hand grips and sheath
Brian R.•March 29, 2017
Beautiful blade. Hand grips and sheath are disappointing and really take away from the overall quality of the knife. The hand grips are smooth, potential hand injury, and the blade rattles around inside the sheath, quite loudly. The smooth grips are a problem for the BK2 as well, and there have been complaints about the hand grips in past reviews. I did purchase the replacement hand grips for my BK2. They were expensive and not a significant improvement. In my opinion, the smooth handles are a scam.
I really liked the knife
Brad S•March 25, 2017
I really liked the knife. Even though the holster sucks for the quality of this knife. They should use kydex or leather. I am not crazy about the handles either. All these things can be resolved. I also removed the awful paint they put on the blade. It was pretty easy it only took about a half hour with some paint stripper. The knife looks great with that cheap paint gone. Go look at some of them on you tube. Even with all this I still give it 5 stars. It is a Kabar. It feels like you could grab this knife and go on any adventure. It is large enough to tackle big jobs but small enough to use to skin small game of other light work.
Definitely Worth The Money

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this knife. I have never paid more than $30 for a knife and was hesitant when I purchased this one. Boy was I amazed at the quality of this thing when I took it out of the box. It is very comfortably in the hand, the Grivory handle is really cool, and fits well in the hand. The powdered coating adds to the look and this thing is very sharp straight out of the box (my wife had to patch me up because I manage to make contact with blade and didn't even know it got me until I saw the blood on the floor.) I actually like the nylon (cordura?) sheath. I think it works well for this knife. I highly recommend this product.
Amazing Tactical Tool

I just LOVED this knife! I haven't had it for really all that long, but I've been basically beating the living crap out of it as far as use and I've only needed to sharpen it twice. The coating has barely even worn off! I I like the pouch in front, as it's good for keeping a fire steel on you. A bit of a high price on my budget, but it was definitely worth it! In my opinion, as long as you know basic wilderness survival skills this knife and a fire steel will get you out of nearly any survival or stranding situation. As such, I keep it in my truck whenever I drive a fairly far distance just in case I off-road into the woods (I live in Independence Missouri where there are wooded areas along a lot of the roads). As a final summary, this knife is amazing and when camping it alone is about 75% of my used tools. If you have the money to spend, buy this knife! You will enjoy it for a long time.
BLUF: Love the knife, great for outdoors. When purchasing would factor in cost of replacing sheath.

Cannot say enough wonderful things about the knife.
Pros:
Great length for the outdoors, allowing for many bush crafty chores (batoning, making feather sticks etc.).
Handle and scales very comfortable to grip for long periods.
The scales have a texture helps keep your grip when hands are wet.
The full tang is super sturdy.
The tang extends beyond the butt as a nice pummel which can do some light hammering.
The coating helps with corrosion.
Cons:
I am concerned about the durability of the coating.
As many others have commented to sheath leaves a lot to desire.
-The nylon retains moisture
-The belt loop lets the knife flop about
-The snap closure on the retaining strap is hard to close.
Bottom line: Love the knife, great for outdoors. When purchasing would factor in cost of replacing sheath.
