I received a mocha pot years ago as a gift. I loved it, and it served me well for many years before the gaskets wore out and it needed to be tossed for safety reasons. Replaced it with a French press, and have been a loyal user of those.
A French press makes great coffee, but it is not the same as the results a mocha pot generates. Not quite espresso, but close enough if you want to make fancy drinks, and since it's a richer brew, you get an excellent flavor out of decaffeinated beans (if, like me, you mistakenly purchase some and don't know what to do with them)
Seems sturdy enough, and is easy to use. I suggest buying whole beans and grinding them yourself for a better brew, and look forward to using this for years to come.

I have a smaller version of this for daily use, but bought this one to take along on a family trip and made coffee for everyone in the house as they staggered out of bed a different times. If you know how a Mokka pot works, you don't need an explanation from me.
A couple of nits:
*On the one I have, you have to tighten the top half down very securely before placing it on the flame, or the boiling water will seep out of the sides rather than brewing up the middle.
*After brewing, the carriage that holds the grounds is difficult to remove from the base. I generally pour the water out by tipping it sideways, then beat the bottom on the side of the trash can to remove the grounds, then rinse the remaining grounds and use a paper towel to remove the basket. The basket on my first one (another brand) comes out very easily.

Reviewing now that I just got back for a 4 week road trek. I bought the 6 cup in black. This 6 pot is small yet just what I needed as a single person on the road. My only beef with it is that you have to pour it O' so slowly or it spills out on counter. They definitely need to improve the spout. And the coffee grinds go on top of the water so after making the coffee you do need to tap it upside down to get the strainer out. I kept an empty coffee canister and placed an unused (of coarse) doggie poo bag in the canister so not to leak out.
NOTE: never place on stove with fire further out than the pot. I put on a timer for 8 minutes so I knew when done. Worked great for my need.
