A perfect, I mean PERFECT cup of "old school" brewed coffee!

Hello coffee lovers. If you are reading this, you are searching for an alternative to those automatic drip coffee processors that you have absolutely NO control over. This coffee pot puts YOU in control!
First of all, the coffee pot is well built in heavier gauge stainless steel. It does have a flat bottom and seems to work well with our ceramic top stove. We did purchase a glass percolator top since we wanted to stay away from plastic. At 6 cups it is a great size for 2 big cups of coffee for my hubby and me. We experimented quite a bit and we think (our opinion) we have found the perfect process. All together it takes about 30 minutes, but believe me, it is worth your time.
Oh, by the way, we also purchased some 3.5" flat round coffee filters. A definite necessity!
Here is our process:
1. Grind your coffee beans to a medium size.
2. Take the coffee basket assembly out of the coffee pot.
3. Add water to the pot up to the 6 cup mark.
4. Place a single coffee filter in the bottom of the coffee basket.
5. Wet the coffee filter while in the bottom of the basket (trust me on this).
6. Put 3 ounces (6 level tablespoons) of coffee in the basket (don't get any grounds in the stem hole).
7. Wet a second filter and carefully place it on top of the coffee grinds in the basket.
8. Place the lid on the coffee basket.
9. Place the entire basket assembly in the coffee pot, and close the lid.
* Now let's do some percolating!!
10. Place the coffee pot on the stove on medium heat.
11. Once the percolating starts (about 10 minutes on our stove), set your timer for 15 minutes.
12. After 15 minutes of percolating, remove the coffee pot from the heat.
13. Let the coffee pot sit for about a minute.
14. Use a hot pad to open the lid and CAREFULLY remove the basket assembly.
15. Close the lid and you are ready to pour and enjoy. Be careful!! The coffee will be VERY hot.
OK, I know... A lot of steps. With practice, the process goes very quickly. Also the coffee filters (on top and bottom) prevent coffee grounds from getting in your coffee (ok, there's a few in there). The best part of this is YOU are in control. You can adjust the percolating time for stronger or weaker coffee. For us, the coffee tastes great, the percolating is fun to watch, and the house smells great.
We hope this review has helped!

Tough Steel, Perfect Size

I took my new percolator camping last week and it was exactly what I wanted. I used a propane stove but this coffee pot is heavy enough to use on a campfire. It brews just 3 cups, enough for a mug and a top off. Get the 3-1/2" round filters.
Motorcycle camping trip saved by coffee

This little guy worked perfectly with my white box alcohol stove for a 2 week trip. Make sure you get either perc filters or coarse grind coffee if you can't handle a bit of grounds in the cup.
Perfect 6 cup Stainless Percolator for your next camping adventure, as well as home.

Okay. I forgot to mention the great carrying bag in this review that you also get with buying this sturdy 6 cup Stainless Steel stove top percolator. This pot and case is build to last longer than you and I are going to be on this earth.
Well Short review: This replaces my 12 CUP stainless camp percolator and as you can see in the video it works.
My only thought is that they could have done a better job on the handle, but I'm sure it will last for many years to come anyway. I can't wait to get this out camping.
Lastly the handle was not hot after being on the stove for 15 minutes perking, and even though it could look better is very sturdy. Also I didn't get this at a discount, I'm not vine voice or anything else (I do pay for Prime to get free delivery on Prime items), just another Amazon customer like you.
Another reviewer had mentioned wetting the basket before adding ground coffee to it. I will definitely try that tomorrow when I use my new percolator to make my morning cup of coffee to see how well it works. If it doesn't I can always add a paper filter to the basket. ;)
UPDATE: 11/8/2017 Great pot of coffee. Used coarse ground coffee, wet basket before adding coffee like I read about in someone else's review. Perked for about 10 or so minutes using low heat on gas stove. YUM is all I can say. Buy this baby with confidence. And yes I'll update should this not prove to be my best camp coffee pot ever. Might go back to perking my morning coffee at home too. Oh and I didn't use a paper filter either.

Good little coffee pot

This pot is great for the RV, camping ect. It does not have little parts like a spring you could loose. It holds just three mugs of coffee, use your mug to measure the water as you make the coffee. I use one slightly rounded tablespoon of coffee grounds per each mug of coffee I plan to make. I also use one tablespoon of cold water over coffee grounds per each tablespoon of grounds used.
This pot perks very quickly. Only drawback I see is it is just a bit small for the price. It cleans easy and works well.
