The biggest issue for me, the coating on this thing (mine is black) is super thin, so the slightest bump and you have a visable scratch.

I can see over a long period of time, using the marker they sent with for lots and lots of touch ups. A thicker more durable coating would have been the way to go here.

As another reviewer posted; there is a gap at the back of the shelf, they do not fully sit against the backing board. Not an issue for me since I bought this strictly as a CD rack.. although the small wooden bar that runs along underneath the top part of the shelf I had to leave out, otherwise it would be nearly impossible to remove the top level of CD's.

Didn't find that out till after I started installing the shelves, after the main part had been built and had to remove that piece.

For a non-wood piece of furniture it will do the job, it just could have been built so much better, and I would have gladly paid the extra $$ for it.

Subtracted one star for the light coat and easy damaged finish.

It is compressed wood and very heavy, about 110 lbs, and stands about 5.5 feet tall. You will need a small hammer, and a Phillips head screw driver to assemble it. The item can be scratch during assembly if you are careless, I found myself scratching the insides accidentally when using the hammer to lightly tap items into holes, however they do provide a marker to cover up the scratches and it matches the color of the wood. If you are one to get upset over silver lock screws showing, buy a black sharpie or your own stickers, they do not provide stickers to cover those up.

The item I felt could have been packaged a little better, by adding small protective sheets between the wood. The rotating device is just a cheap plastic circle on what seems to be on plastic wheels, I feel these will break in time. The small plastic footings (base of unit) are useless on carpet and will offer little protection on solid floors, I had extra shelving left over I was able to use four of those in lue of the plastic padding tacks. (Reasons behind the 4 stars)

From the packaging to the assembly this is a 5 star product! Well designed and made.

I had been using three custom built (by me) barrister book cases to hold my CD collection but it was too deep which made it hard to read the labels in certain lighting conditions, plus I had run out of room. I CDs stacked everywhere in my music room.

The Triple Width unit swallowed up all of my CDs and still has lots of room for more. I guess I'll be ordering more CDs soon!

Some reviews have the assembly time way too long. It took me about one hour to assemble and clean up. When attaching the back pieces, start with the center piece so that it bisects the vertical pieces. Otherwise you will have a hard time getting the brad nails to go into the wood. What I did was to tack the back on (don't hammer all the way in, leave some of the head sticking up) and adjust everything nice and square and center the center back piece. By leaving the brads up you can easily pull them out to reposistion the back if needed. Don't forget to anchor the cabinet too the wall!

This holds 489 DVD's by laying one shelf group on their side due to height restriction. The quality is good and item looks nice. Very easy to assemble. Unfortunately, my DVD collection totals 667 and this item was not large enough. It would be helpful if the description would have included the number of items it would accommodate (i.e. CD/DVD/blue ray, etc.). My picture below also includes book ends on top with an additional 74 DVD's.

This is a nice cabinet! I'm using this at my work in a public conference room to store our wireless router, the phone we plug in, etc. The cabinet is nice and sturdy and looks good in a professional environment. The back of it is made of particle board so it is easy to drill into if you need to run cords through it. Overall it looks nice, is sturdy, and is definitely better quality than most "build yourself cabinets". I only deducted a start because this thing came in a million pieces:)
