Coldest electric blanket I've ever owned.

If I could give it a zero star I would. If you do not mind going to bed and freezing for 5 hours and then waking up sweating, this blanket is for you. It arrives with a red sticker that says "This blanket will not feel warm to the touch" and suggests starting out with it on high and adjusting the settings down as you see which setting works best. Unless you are hot blooded, this blanket will not keep you warm in a 60 degree bedroom. I have owned several electric blankets in my life and of several different brands, all of them cheaper and all of them worked better than this expensive one. Save you money, don't buy it. I usually set it at 7 and place another blanket on top of it to keep warm.

I have been using Soft Heat blankets since 2008. It took a while to find an electric blanket that doesn't know it's an electric blanket. For me, a Soft Heat blanket is a light-weight blanket that keeps me warm. Over the years, I've slept on top of it as well as under it. I've put blankets on top of it and used it as a summer blanket without the power cord plugged in.
One time I thought I had a problem. I pressed the on button, the control light came on, and a few seconds it went off. After going through that process several times, I realized I hadn't connected the power cord to the blanket. The instructions don't say the control light won't stay on if the blanket power cord isn't connected to the blanket.

We've been using this for a coupletter of months now and it is awesome. The cables inside the blanket are very small and almost impossible to notice. Older high voltage systems have thick cables and large lumps throughout the blanket. This one has none of that. It just feels like a regular blanket. It heats very well. We love it. I also love the auto off feature. If you forget to turn it off when you wake up, it turns itself off for you. Great!

We Love it! We keep a cool room, so primary use is to preheat the bed. We turn it on about a hour (or more, when ever we remember) before bedtime but then turn it off as generally the bed stays warm enough once you are in. Really takes care of the initial icy chill climbing in! This was to replace the last Sunbeam blanket that initially worked well until the warrantee expired along with the heating element! I fully expect the same from this after reading countless reviews on heating blankets. On the plus side for this one, it does feel safer and the wires are thinner and less noticeable. The fabric doesn't slip out from the sheet and bedspread keeping you covered and making it a breeze to make the bed. It's soft, but not quite as plush as our old one, but you can't feel it anyway between the sheets. Also several reviewers mentioned it was noisy. Yes, if you scrunch it up it will make a little noise, but really, who does that when your sleeping!

PROS- it's super warm, saves on my heat bill, adjustable on two sides, thin wires you can hardly feel, kitty cat attractant, now I only sleep with this instead of 4 blankets. Slipping into bed feels luxurious. Feels great on my joints and helps me a lot, I mean a lot when it is "that time of the month." Sorry if that is TMI.
CONS- blanket fits my queen bed but it's too short in width to tuck in so beware if the person next you is a blanket tuck and roller. The packaging never specified the size so maybe it is a full/queen? If you fall asleep with it at 8 you will wake up very hot! I've had to wake up several times in the middle of the night to keep turning it down till I find my perfect heat level. Now I know I like to start at 8 and then before I start to fall asleep I put it to 2, yes 2 and I stay warm in our cold room. If you aren't planning on plugging it in close to the foot of your bed and then running the wires through the bottom of your bed frame, just know you will have wires everywhere! The wires are long. Another con, not sure how to wash it... So far the things on my cons list haven't affected me in any negative way so I still love it!
