Not bad. Gets the job done.
KobeJuly 22, 2018
This knife lives up to it's title. It is a solid compact yet comfortable knife that is satisfying to hold. It has little hole in the handle in case you want to install a grip on the knife. Something I plan on doing eventually. But who cares about all this gibberish talk. Let's get down to the pros and cons of this knife.

Pros:
-sturdy, and one peice, could probably take a few .22 rounds and still hold up.
-will hold it's edge, I have had no trouble with the blade deforming in any way.
-nice coating, I like the black rough kind of paint on the knife, it helps with grip a little and looks quite nice.
-the sheath it comes with is quite nice, there are a few things I dislike about it but I'll go over that in the cons, if I were just rating the sheath however, I would give it 3 stars.
-good balance, some one who has experience throwing knife could probably have a good time with these.
-The retention system on the sheath is not bad, it's very basic but still useful.

Cons:
- This knife is a pain in the @$$ to sharpen, the angle is a little off from what it should be, and due to the damn near bulletproof metal, it takes a little time to sharpen.
-The handle will not be very comfortable for those with bigger hands, I have medium to large size hands and the knife handle seems a little small from time to time. This is mainly due to it's slim handle, and could easily be resolved by buying some nice grips.
- As I mentioned before, the sheath on this knife isn't exactly 5 star worthy, it is a little bulkier than it should be and the little guard that's supposed to prevent the knife from being drawn while it's closed is useless, I also noticed that the knife had a little wiggle room inside the sheath which is tedious but still thought I should mention it.

Something I must mention is the reality of combat/defense effectiveness of this knife. This knife is obviously not made for stabbing, its not going to penetrate through flesh and bone like a 7" KA-Bar would. It is quite effective at everything else I could test it on such as chopping and cutting. Though it does take effort to stab into things with this beautiful blade, it will definitely get the job done if needed. I hope this review helped you to make a decision on this purchase. God bless.
Great knife. Decent sheath.

Good quality knife, to be expected from Ka-Bar. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is the sheath. Now, that's not to say it's not a good sheath, but it's hard to fasten to a belt or rig to your leg, as you need to tie your own belt loops onto it for a belt draw, or rig it in some other way for a leg sheath. Otherwise I have no complaints, this is a good quality knife, small enough to be portable and versatile and strong enough to get almost any job done. Well done yet again, Ka-Bar.
Small solid construction

Small solid knife. I use it on my belt. I stripped off all the black coating to metal and added the handle set and sheath clip.
Outstanding knife! Buy one! Or two!

I've been carrying an ESEE Izula for quite some time now and really enjoy carry a neck knife, and truly appreciate the added versatility that carrying a fixed blade gives as opposed to carrying a folder. Being a fan of the Izula, I naturally discovered that ESEE had collaborated with Kabar to design the EsKabar neck knife with incorporates the Izula's hand design with the Becker Necker's blade design. Since I already owned the ESEE Izula and have given it tons of use in the woods, I figured I would try something a little different and pick up the Becker Necker. I've owned a number of Becker products in the past and have never been disappointed, so naturally I had high hopes for this knife as well!

This knife was no disappointment! Upon receiving the knife, I immediately noticed that it came from the factory with a beautifully sharp and symmetrical blade grind! Nice job Kabar! I then took a few moments to wrap the handle with some trusty 550 paracord and then quickly took to the woods to test this knife out! It handles batoning tasks great, as long as your reasonable and don't try to do anything stupid like baton knotted wood, or baton ridiculous logs of course! Kabar's 1095 CroVan steel held it's edge very admirably and got plenty of work done without needing to be touched up! The grip is more or less a 3-finger grip, but quite comfortable! I didn't find there to be any bad hot-spots or major discomfort while using the knife. However, keep in mind that this style of knife is not designed to be used for hours upon hours of whittling either!

One of the tasks I put this knife through was fabricating an Arapuca Bird Trap from saplings in the forest. Then I crafted a figure-4 deadfall to trigger the trap. The knife made easy work of this task, and was a real pleasure to use! The blade size is very nice - not too big, not too small. The blade is small enough to make it convenient for neck carry, yet at the same time not so small to inhibit it's usefulness as a survival knife! As an added bonus, this knife was designed with 2 extra features that the EsKabar and Izula don't have; a bottle opener and wire breaker! I can't honestly say I have found myself in any situations where I've needed to break wire, but I've already put the bottle opener through it's paces, and it works just fine!

Overall, I absolutely love this knife! Some people complain the the sheath is a bit too large for neck carry, but I've been carrying this knife for nearly a month now with no issues whatsoever! I did however choose to immediately remove that new added retention lever that Kabar has added to the corner of the sheath. I find it to be way too big and clunky if you plan to carry this knife as a neck knife. I also have no issue with this knife printing under my shirt either. I would highly recommend this knife!

Update: I just recently decided to remove the paracord wrap from the handle because I wanted to start using this knife in more "food prep" application to see how it performs, and the paracord would present real problems as far as sanitation goes... (Good luck trying to get raw chicken juice out of paracord!). Anyways, I decided to cut up an apple for my yellow lab, Henry, and I to have for a snack today. The knife performed quite well, and certainly can pull off any task that a paring knife could be used for. Obviously a knife like this isn't the most ideal blade for food prep due to it's thick blade stock, however it certainly gets the job done! I will try to post more shots of my BK11 in action! Stay tuned!
Perfect size for an EDC fixed blade

WOW!
That's my review in a word. This is my third Ka-Bar Becker based on the tremendous experience Ive had with both my BK10 Crewman and BK3 Tac Tool, and this is no exception! I cannot imagine a better knife for the money. Quality is top notch! sheath is ok, does the job, but not up to the knife's quality. retention is "eh" at best...
With that said, I bought this as an EDC for use at the construction supply company i work at. Im always in the yard and a knife is always handy. I prefer a fixed blade on the back of my belt, but my BK10 is just too big for wearing at work and around town. This is fitting the bill perfectly. With a nice paracord wrap (paracord included!) and a Tek Lok for horizontal carry (one additional hole was drilled in the sheath) this is the perfect size fixed knife for all the day-to-day tasks without scaring the be-jesus out of someone if they see it when you bend over.
