If you are looking for a pretty piece of brass and wood furniture

If you are looking for a pretty piece of brass and wood furniture, this is for you! If you want a HALFWAY ACCURATE weather instrument this one is not accurate. I have purchased used ones made in East and West Germany (so you know how old they must be) which are much more accurate. This Bey Berk is pretty, but also pretty expensive for a fairly function-less six inch wall decoration. Look at some of the other barometers if you want a fairly accurate weather instrument or look at a used one made by a good manufacturer.
Looks nice, won't work

Looks very nice, regretfully mine is not working, needle won't move unless you really 'bang' on it. Also unable to set the to correct pressure because needle will 'jump' at least 5-10 mbars after you set the pressure with the set screw, so you have to start all over again. Would like to exchange it for another one, but that option was not available, so I had to return it.

Appears to be in order, must wait for pressure changes. Smaller than anticipated.

My dad had a barometer years ago, it seemed pretty accurate. We have always lived in New England where weather is always changing. What I don't like about this barometer is that I always need to tap it to see a change in the needle position?

I must admit that it is a great decoration. However; as a barometer it does nothing. It is rock solid in its reading. I do think that one time during a tornado alert it may have jiggles a tad when I tapped it (as you must with all analog barometers)
