I see why they call it the Freedom pet door! Now I don't need to let my two in and out every five minutes. Even our 113lb Bernese Mountain Dog can get through easily. We took the latch off the inside jam to make it fit better and can replace that if we take out the pet door. Also, don't forget to clean your glass on your old doors (we didn't think ahead) because you won't have access to that overlapping area if you screw in the pet door. Very solid and the flap closes each time plus there is more room than we expected for people to walk through.
I am using this to setup my air conditioner in my apartment.

I am using this to setup my air conditioner in my apartment. My apartment does not allow window units, so I improvised with the sliding glass door. The plastic door is pretty touch to cut through, but I got it looking good.
Had to order some additional weather stripping and thick foam to fill some gaps. Overall very satisfied for this purpose.

And they do use it to come inside to cool off and then go back outside again

I bought this for my bunnies...their cage is outside on the balcony...but I also wanted them to have the choice of coming inside if it gets too hot for them outside (I live in CA). And they do use it to come inside to cool off and then go back outside again. They come inside and go outside several times a day and this petdoor has made it easy for me to let them decide when they want to do so! =)
Happy with this door

Very happy with this door - it snapped right in - my Home is about 30 years old so I think my glass slider was not totally flush but a small adjustment at the top of my slider, which doubled as a security lock, and the weather stripping took care of the problem. Installation recommended I add some screws, I think for security, but as the door exits to an enclosed patio with its own locked exterior door I did not do that . Altogether I am very happy with this door. Attached pictures of the installation, the door, and the security lock/shim that I used. I ordered the medium door for my 11lb cat mostly because I needed bronze and they didn't make small and bronze, but I think it's the perfect size. It took him less than five minutes to figure it out, with the aid of some treats ! If I ever decide to move it will be super simple to remove.
What I like, don't like, and what is not good.

Things I like:
The extra lock because I was going to have to replace the lock on the slider - so now I don't have to.
The medium size fits my 22 pound (not fat - just larger than normal) Cavalier King spaniel without extra space.
The video was helpful, however, incomplete.
Things I don't like:
My weatherstripping length was shorter than my door.
The template for the lock was hard to find.
The template doesn't take into account that you will next be putting on weatherstripping. I couldn't accommodate it anyway because of the lock design.
What was not good:
If you have an "inside slider" you need to order additional hardware. I ended up using spacers and "L" brackets because I didn't want to wait (or pay more) - but it doesn't say that anywhere on the ad. I wrote an email to the customer service with the above issues. The response was quick, but did not address the inside slider issue.
So I'll need to figure out how to weather strip the 1/8th" inch thick area between the sliding door and the pet door. The stuff they send is too thick to be able to lock the door - plus there was not enough to cover the length of the door anyway.
