Buck knifes will always be the highest quality in my opinion. Bought this for my dad for Christmas and he said it's very useful for hunting. I have a few buck knives myself and they are all of the highest quality. Can't say enough good things about this knife and all buck knives in general.

I like that the knife is made in USA

Sharp out of the box. With very little work it's now very sharp. Handle feels cheap and is a little too slick even when dry, so plan to add some stippling. I like that the knife is made in USA, but it feels too large for using to field dress whitetail deer, which is what I bought it for. I also bought the Schrade Old Timer 7.25" skinner and it's just the right size.
Awesome Buck Knife!

Another awesome knife from Buck! I've been looking for a good knife for game cleaning, and I believe this is the one. I love the "rubbery" type handle on the knife; it will provide lots of gripping ability even in wet and grimy conditions. Also, the guthook on the blade is something that will be very useful for dressing deer. The knife is plenty sharp straight out of the box, comes with a decent nylon sheath, and is made right here in the USA. Buck Knives is a wonderful Christian and family-oriented company, and I will continue to support them for years to come, as long as they keep making knives this good. I've never been disappointed with any of my Buck knives and I don't think this one will be any different.Highly recommend!

Awesome knife. Get the hi vis knife so you don't loose it. I have this and the Gerber freeman. I use both to clean animals. I prefer a gut hook and use it regularly. The freeman gets sharp easily but dulls faster. This Buck is a bit harder to get sharper but holds its edge better. The Freeman feels better in the hand. Both are great knives and will do the job of cleaning a deer. I keep my Buck around to go through the tough stuff and use the Gerber for the softer tissues and skinning. If I had to choose just one it would be hard because the Gerber feels so good in my hand. Wish this Buck had the ergonimics of the Gerber freeman then I would say this Buck hands down. I would still pick this one over the Gerber. Get both and get a work sharp belt sharpener too. You'll be glad you did.
