My Dad loves his

We got this for my father, who needs to take pills four times a day and is starting to have memory problems, which made that very difficult. This unit has solved that problem very neatly, so much so in fact that when my sister admired it he gave her his and we had to get him another one! The only drawback is the price, which does seem a little steep for what you get. It is not a large enough unit to hold all the pills an older person often needs, but that was not a problem in our case; my Dad already had a nice holder in which he could set out the days' pills, he just needed a portable, easy-to-use (he's also pretty technophobic) reminder system. If need be, it can also hold his most essential pills, e.g. if he is going to be out for a long period of time.
Finally.... I find something that's easy to set up!

I bought this product for my 80 year old uncle that has various of meds he has to remember to take. He would place all of them for the day in a tin container and as he would take them out they'd roll out and sometimes fall on the floor and sometimes unable to find it so this item was amazing because we set up the alarms for hime to remember to take his medications and all he had to do is only open one compartment of meds and flip it over in his hand and walaa.. he takes his meds. He was very happy with his new toy and he loves it :) I liked it so much, I'm considering buy one so I remember to take all of my vitamins lol

I got this for my mom quite a while ago because it promised to be easy. My mom does not like anything that you really have to "figure out" so I was a little leary about sending it to her without me figuring it out first and then sending it to her (I live in Seattle and she lives in St. Joseph, Missouri). But I was pleasantly surprised that when she received it, she figured it out herself. This has been so nice for her to have, she had been having a lot of trouble remembering to take her afternoon and evening pills but now, with this vibrating pill box, she has hardly missed a dosage. I gave it five stars because it was easy for her to set up by herself, it's been constant and has had no problems. It also takes a lot of worry off my shoulders that she has not been taking the medicine the way she should, so I know if she has this with her that she will take it 98% of the time. Of course she takes so many pills that they would not fit in the pill compartment but she just keeps her big pill dispenser with it all the times. It's great to have, especially for the senior in your life that might be having some memory problems OR even the extremely busy person that needs to take an afternoon or evening pill and keeps forgetting - I plan to order one for myself just for that reason.
Good For Seniors!

I'm an old 83 year old geezer with CRS. I would sometimes forget to take my meds. My times to take them were 1st thing in the A.M. and last thing at night. Even with that simple schedule, I would sometimes forget. As my health declined, I was adding more meds and supplements. I decided to divide the times to 4 times a day. This made remembering even more difficult. I then tried a phone app. Well, if I forgot my phone at home, I had no reminders. I considered an alarm watch, but my experience with those types of watches was getting them set up right was failure. I use a simple Timex analog watch with no alarms.
I discovered this simple alarm device with 4 pill compartments on the back. Wow, something very easy (WATCH THE VIDEO) to setup and use. The controls are separate buttons and sliders rather than digital. Can a person with Alzheimers or severe dementia use this? I would say no, but it might be helpful to the person who is caring for them. This device is small enough to carry in a pocket or purse. I have 4 separate 7 day pill boxes--1 for each of the 4 alarm times. I fill the weekly pill boxes each week and the 4 device compartments each morning. The whole process is very simple. The alarm is not very loud so keep it close by so you can hear it. You may not hear it if it's buried in a purse though. Some say this item is pricey, but it's invaluable to me. Now, I no longer have to worry about when to take my pills--as long as I remember to take the device along or keep it close by. :)
Update: I've discovered that when you tap the middle button when the alarm is not sounding, it resets everything. This is annoying to have to reset everything including the time. Also, the device sometimes resets itself. Then, you have to do a manual setup again. I'm not sure why this happens. Take 1 star off because of this reset.

I been looking forward to receiving this as I have to take medication 4 times a day and more often than not, I end up forgetting during the day as I stay very busy. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I unboxed it an removed the tabs to have it work sporadically and I was not able to set the clock without it shutting down. While tempted to return it, I didn't as it would cost more in time and postage to do so. Instead I opened it up and took it apart and could see no obvious problem so put it back together and it started working perfectly. All I can think of is that when I pulled the tabs out the contacts did not firmly connect. So if yours arrives not working properly and you have a small screwdriver set and are reasonably adept with this type of thing take it apart, clean and reassemble. Inside it looks reasonably well made and there were no real obvious weak points given the price. Works great now and best of all I taking my pills as prescribed.
