I purchased this particular scale because the scale (at least the plate you put things on to weigh) appeared black in the photos. It's a black plastic casing with a silver scale plate just like the rest of them. As far as how it functions, it's perfect. .01g accuracy and a touch screen. Oh and of course the cover is removable to use as a wider plate. What more can you ask for? (Besides more accurate seller pictures, I mean.)

Nice looking scale, accurate. Difficult to read from a harsh angle. Switch to detach the lid feels like it will break very soon. For the price, I am happy with it.

Update 6-6-17 - I have used this everyday since it arrived and it still works wonderfully. The lid switch is fully intact and I am no longer worried about it breaking. It does tend to unlock when I return the scale to its case, but it is really not a big deal.

Seems to be accurate, but mine has a couple of minor problems. First, it does not sit level on it's feet; the bottom of it seems to be warped allowing it to wobble some when placed on a flat surface. Second, the latch that holds the cover in place comes loose every time I use the scale.

Had a previous model for years and it held up well and was always accurate until dropped and broken after years of trouble free use. This new one seems to be even better made, and as a bonus it will calibrate with either a 500g, 200g, or 100g weight. This is a nice feature since I only had a 100g weight, and hate that scales all seem to want their own special sized weights to calibrate properly. Nice that this one can use three different sizes so it's more flexible than most, in that regard.

It was calibrated and worked correctly right out of the box, with the supplied batteries, but just to be sure I went through the easy to use calibration method with my 100g weight. Would purchase this again.

To anyone in the reviews having problems, idk why, this touch screen scale is great, I really like the light up blue touch pad, it's cool and It really does go to the hundredths past the decimal, it's very accurate, to be sure pull out your change jar and get to weighing... A nickel weighs 5 grams, a penny I believe weighs 2.5 grams, Google all the coin weights, then you'll know if your on point, weigh each coin, the lid comes off really easy to use as a tray on the scale... I bought my boyfriend one and he really likes it, so I'm ordering one for myself... He's been using the thing I think two years now, Christmas before last, still going strong, I recommend this scale to anyone, also comes with a cloth like carrying case. We changed batteries like twice already to keep it accurate, so glad this takes regular batteries and not those crazy flat round ones, for the price, win win
