I have a big head, so finding a comfy hat can be tricky. I ordered the 2xl and it works for me. It blocks the sun well and is not too tight. Granted, my husband quotes Crocodile Dundee everytime he sees me in it, but what does he know? LOL.

I love this hat! I would give it 6 stars if I could.
Size: I wear 7 1/4, I followed the sizing chart which said Large and it fit perfectly.
Mesh: Plenty of ventilation and strength. Excellent design. Distressed gold color looks a little more brown and less gold than I thought but still works well with the olive color.
Brim: Perfect width, firm, not floppy. Top side had the mesh material for looks on top of the solid beefy brim material.
Workmanship: excellent stitching, straight seams, no wrinkles. Great contruction.
Looks: I am a person who normally does NOT look good in wide brim hats. They are usually a source of hysterical laughter for my wife and daughter. This hat brought compliments instead!

I might have given this a higher rating if I had received one that fit. Unfortunately the package was opened and everything had been discarded so I'm not going to return it. I'll just give it to somebody with a head the size of a watermelon. I'm not sure everyone here has been reviewing the same hat, so I will note that I bought the Henschel 5310 Packable Mesh Breezer Hat, X-Large in Khaki. Even though some reviewers thought there is a size chart, I couldn't find one on Amazon that was specific to this hat. Lacking that, I followed advice in the reviews and bought the XL because I wear a 7 1/2 hat. My hat size has been the same for forty years and I've bought enough hats to know that 7 1/2 still fits and my head has not shrunk. This hat fell down over my ears. It was gigantic and my wife started laughing when she saw me. I couldn't even see because it covered my eyes. Now I'm not blaming the manufacturer, except it would be better if the hats were listed with a conventional hat size range too.

Love this hat. I am a big beach goer and a hiking person. I can wear it doing either. Rain or shine, it takes care of me. Runs a bit small. Good news is... if the fit ends up being slightly larger than needed you can just stick a bit of foam or paper towel in the head band. Works perfectly

Quality, made-in-the-USA hat. I purchased this for a summer trip to Co. I was looking for something breathable that also offered coverage from the sun and was easily packed. I was not disappointed. I guessed on the size and while a little snug, it is wearing in and I don't think it would stay on my head in the wind were it a size up. I now wear it regularly when outdoors.
