Very happy with these for my particular situation

Very happy with these for my particular situation.
I am using these in Clarks 9.5 2E shoes and they fit perfectly. They are slightly loose in my Rockports which are size 9 2E.
The arch support is very pronounced and may be the highest off-the-shelf insole I've tried so far. However, my work shoes tend to have very poor arch support particularly because the heel is elevated. In a normal shoe it might actually be too much.
They're also not too thick nor too squishy. For reference, I've found Spencos to be too thick - my feet feel elevated in the shoe, if they fit at all - and Dr Scholls to be too squishy, like stepping on jello.

My orthopedist recommended custom shoe inserts
AmeliaBedelia✓ Verified Purchase•September 7, 2017
I'm probably on my third or fourth pair of these shoe inserts. My orthopedist recommended custom shoe inserts, but my insurance wouldn't pay for them. So she recommended these shoe inserts. They really help me a lot with my plantar fasciiitis, pinched & inflamed nerves in my feet, and slightly fallen arches. I paid a lot more for my first pair from her office than the subsequent ones I bought from Amazon. I've looked around online to see if there's any others--brand or model--that would work as well at a better price, but I haven't found any. So I continue to buy Powerstep inserts, usually this one or the Powerstep ProTech ones.
Good investment......

Great investment for your posture, sore legs, and last ,but not LEAST......FEET.....follow the instructions that come in every set of orthotics. Initial overuse will create sore legs,etc,..i use both the 3/4 and full length for regular shoes,3/4 fot sandals. If you use them in sandals use "Velcro" on the orthotic & sandal to prevent the orthotics from slipping forward, thereby putting the orthotic out of pidition with your heel. A few hours of a "out of position" orthotics will create discomfort in that heel. Remember the feet are the supports of the pillars which support the temple that houses your soul...protect them!!!!!!!! !hasta ese tiempo.....
NO MORE PAIN, YEAH BABY!!!!!

Anytime I buy something, I always read the reviews before purchasing the item and this was no exception. Everything I read about these insoles were 100% correct. I read that you have to break them in and it is going to hurt for a little while until you do and they were so right. I already had pain in my feet from Plantar Fasciitis, so it was difficult to not want to throw them back in the box and send back. If it wasn't for the reviews and giving them a chance because of them, I would have sent them back immediately. Instead I chose to listen and gave them time, even with the pain they caused until my feet got used to them. It took about or less then a week and I was pain free. I cannot stress how difficult it was for me to walk and now I have no pain. I can now stand all day at work and not have to cringe every time I walk.
Another commenter also said that these would be a sure fit or you might have to cut just a tad bit, but not much to fit in the shoe. They were right about this also, I did not have to cut the insole at all. I ordered the 7.5-8 and it fit perfectly in 3 of my jogging shoes. No cutting and no fuss, just insert into the shoe and go (aside from getting used to them).
So, if you have pain on the bottom of you feet and/or your ankle, I highly recommend getting these because they are worth it. I could not be happier with these because they took my pain away. I am so grateful to those who commented on these and got me to buy them. Thank you and Powerstep for saving my feet and taking my pain away.
Update: Bought a pair for my husband and he loves them. Stopped his knee pain :)

Additional support for Sorel slippers that I wear extensively
Malcolm Clark✓ Verified Purchase•February 9, 2017
I have had Powerstep Pinnacle before but not Powerstep original. This is for a year old pair of Sorel Falcon Ridge slippers (that I wear more hours than any other shoe I have). I had a powerstep pinnacle in it, but the right footbed developed a bump between my big toe & the ball of my foot that was very painful to walk on. The pain source disappeared immediately when I removed the pinnacle insole. I'm hoping this thinner insole will not develop the same problem. I have removed the original Sorel insole which did not give enough support, given how much I wear the sandals. If no problems develop, I would raise ranking to 5* -- but too soon to know at present.
