This is a wonderful device. I have bought several and give them to people who have had my experience too many times. This helps to avoid giving too much water to house plants and gardens. The ground often looks dry when it isn't.

The last moisture sensor I purchased worked perfectly for almost 20 years! I remember getting it at a garden store, but there was no manufacture's label or it may have worn off. I found this one, it looked to be the same and had a good rating. It was not of the same sturdy quality of my previous one. It works most of the time. There have been times when I check the soil on a plant and the meter does not register, meaning it stays on the dry setting, and when I remove it the probe is wet. So I will say I am a bit disappointed and I am looking for one that works all of the time.
