Up here in the frozen parts of hell you need 2 things for winter, a block heater, and a good ext cord to plug it in 24/7. this cord does the job nicely. It has the nicer thicker insulation that keeps it from brittly breaking in the severe -50+ windchill temps, and the ends dont freeze up like a true cheapo either once you have the block heater plug in it (very nice not to have to use vice grips to unplug).
If it works for a block heater cord itll do anything well, the orange is a good color against snow and would do well vs grass to avoid mowing over them if you cant see it.

Bought this cord so I could move my refrigerator to a more convenient spot in my apartment as the fridge's cord was too short. It does the job with its low gauge and high amp ratings even though I hear it's not always a good idea to attach a fridge to an extension cord. Cord looks pretty tough though I suspect that since it hangs across the walkway to my 1-unit apartment, it'll definitely get stepped on occasionally which is fine.

After looking at a bunch, I chose this one because it was long enough for my front yard. Just plug it into my living room outlet, toss it out the window, and plug in my yard tool.
Its very well made but nothing fancy, like little lights inside the plugs, just a heavy duty cable to get the job done.
