Great hat....giving it two stars because it really isn't packable. Instructions say the crown has to be stuffed with socks or whatever to keep its shape. This doesn't work as "packable" for me. Who has that much room in a suitcase that the hat can't be folded or crushed down. If you want it for a sun hat around town it would be great.

These are the best sun hats ever. I bought this one as a gift for a good friend after she complained about the sun hat she took on her last vacation to a sunny spot. I already have a couple of these in different colors, and they are both comfortable to wear and very packable. Every other hat I ever took on a trip lost its shape and came out of the suitcase dented and crumpled. These hats emerge from being packed looking just like new. They provide good shade and can be worn all day without pinching your head.

Lightweight and very comfortable. I particularly like the fact that one can lean back in one's beach chair without the hat rim hitting the back of the chair. The rim just bends softly against one's head. My only disappointment is the lack of cords to tie the Wallaroo under the chin in windy weather. The first time i wore it I nearly lost it in 18 mph gusts. The cords I thought I could use are actually to adjust the size, which is also a useful feature in its own right. Additionally, earlier iterations of this hat came with instructions to spot clean only. Now the tag advises, "hand wash cold." Also love the high SPF protection.

I bought this hat for a Caribbean cruise and it was perfect. It kept it's shape even after being smashed flat in my luggage and after getting wet. The Caribbean was windy, and the hat doesn't have a strap, but because it's adjustable, I was able to tighten the inner band to keep the hat on my head. I admit I wasn't anxious to spend this kind of money on a hat, but the quality can't be beat, the hat is beautiful, and it's one I will be able to wear for years to come. I'm not a hat person, I generally don't like the way I look in hats, but this was cute and I got a lot of compliments. It is the first of several Wallaroo hats I hope to own. It's worth the money--in this case, you get what you pay for: a beautiful hat that flatters, keeps it shape, and stays on your head in the wind.
