Dose the job nicely. Other reviews indicated problems with bottom water pan "pitting" and this seems to be true even for us. However we have not had any "rusting" dots so far. The steaming is consistent due to the number of vent holes and their size. Used so far for only greenbeans and we found the steamer is quick and their instruction for length of time accurate.

Absolutely awesome! Easily rough chop apples, dump into the large compartment that holds 10 lbs, put water in bottom compartment to build steam and fill up your jars. The smooth quality of the apple juice is excellent and the process is the least messy one I've tried for getting the juice and goodness out of the apples. The juice has a lovely color too. No sludge, no slush, wonderful.

Overall a nice product. Although I really wanted the Tim Allen "More Power" version so that I could cook down a half ton of fruit in under a minute, this is a nice size for my normal kitchen stove. It will produce the right amount of juice to do one typical batch of jelly for me. The bottom is very solid to ensure the heat is well distributed as described. I would say that the sides though are a bit thinner then I expected. That said, they are plenty thick and would likely be much heavier if they were as thick I as I expected. The glass top is as big a win as I hoped. I can easily see how the fruit is doing without losing the heat by opening it.

Someone commented that theirs was "pitted" after the first use. Mine did just fine, but did have mineral deposits because of my hard water after just one use. That said I poured some vinegar in, wiped it around, let it sit and then wiped it again and it was just like new.

Pay attention to the picture, if you leave the hose hang, it will leak. It's hard to see but there's a way to hook the spout into one of the handles so that it does not drip. I hooked mine into the juice collector handle.

I did a batch of apples. It took about 1.5 hours and came out very nice. I'm looking forward to hitting the local farm market and buying a bushel of seconds of just about any fruit and seeing what I can do with it.

The local brewing/wine shop doesn't recommend steaming because it will caramelize the sugars and maybe produce "off flavors" compared to crushing the fruit. I intend to do significant amounts to testing to come to my own conclusion. ;-)

I recommend the product and expect it will last years.

I like everything about the steamer except the clamp that is included to use on the rubber hose. I originally used the clamp included but the seal on the rubber hose was not tight and juice leaked out all over my counter top! I am now using a heavy duty clamp I bought from a hardware store and the hose works fine - no leaking. I highly recommend the steamer with that one exception.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this steamer/juicer, as I have never had one before and wanted to make cherry juice. Wow, this made the job SO much easier! I did 42 lbs of cherries, and never ran out of water in the bottom. It did an excellent job of getting the juice out of the cherries, and like so many people noted, the glass lid is really nice to be able to see what is going on with the cherries. I had no problems at all with this item, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice juicer
