directions are not all that easy to follow but if you are handy with tools you'll figure it out! I would recommend drilling extra holes below the water line to help them sink and stay put! It is nice to have steps locked for piece of mind with small children!!

Unfortunately, this wasn't adjustable for height on one side versus the other, as we thought when we purchased it. I got the steps assembled for both sides, and it was so solidly built, that by the time I realized it wouldn't work for us (our pool is halfway set into the ground), I wasn't able to get the steps apart again. So, it assembled so sturdily, that I couldn't get it back apart! Since I couldn't mail it back, we found someone via Marketplace or some such, that paid cash of almost half what we paid for the steps, so it wasn't a total loss. My impression is these steps would be great for a normal pool, same height inside as outside. The safety features looked good, from what I could ascertain.

It was a bit of work assembling it, but me a 52 year old lady did it! I like it much better than the ladder that comes with the pool. The top rails aren't very sturdy but I feel much safer getting in and out of the pool with this ladder.
