A Simple Idea That Works Great!
Tony R.✓ Verified Purchase•October 30, 2023
While the size of this humidifier jar is small, its impact is large. I recently returned to smoking cigars and while I still had humidors for storage, I no longer had the actual humidifiers to keep the cigars fresh. In the past, I had opted for larger and more complex humidifiers thinking that was required to ensure my cigars were kept moist enough for smoking but not too wet to prevent burning. Then I tried this simple idea and it works just as well, if not better, than many of the high priced options out there. Fill with distilled water, and it doesn't take that much to fill, this powerhouse does a great job of providing just enough humidity to deliver a perfect cigar. The process is simple enough-moisture escapes through the miniscule holes on a continuous basis until all the water has evaporated from the beads. Then refill. It's advertised as lasting 90 days but I found 45-60 days more accurate with approximately 50 cigars housed in the humidor. Easy solution and at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
As advertised!

I looked and looked and compared and for the price I could not beat the price.
I just got my first humidor, after reading every comment about the humidity device that came with the humidor being junk and it was. So I bought this and THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT*******
**** I DID NOT USE THE FLUID THEY RECOMEND!!!!!¡!¡!¡!
I bought Cigar Caddy Solution on the cheap and it works perfectly!!!!
Here is something to know though, your humidity will fluctuate depending on where you keep the humidor and by how many cigars you have in the humidor. I live in Texas and it just rained for a week and my humidity went up as I smoked some sticks. It also has to do with how well your humidor was made... mine has a glass top so I'm thinking that had something to do that also.

Xikar Crystal Humidifiar Jar for humidors

Works great. I wished the jars were bigger, or as big as they appear in the picture. But they are rather small. And rather pricey. But they do work if you have large humidors with a large cache of valuable cigars in them. This size jar is good for about 100 cigars. So take it from there. Once you get these, take off the top, fill it up with distilled water, then replace the lid with the black breathable top, and your good to go. Just place it inside your humidor. Again, depending on the size of the humidor dictates the number of these you will need overall. Although Xikar makes these in tube form as well, these are easier to use. Hope I helped someone. if I did, a yes vote would be appreciated.
Consistent and small

Pretty decent, I had to make a tupperdor for spill over because my small desktop humidor was filled to the rim and wasnt keeping humidity well. I paired this thing with one of those cheap humidor pucks. Compared to CI's humidor bead filled cup this thing is tiny but still packs a punch. I dont see it lasting as long as the one from CI but it will still do the job for quite some time. I have used it now for about a month and its held humidity religiously at 71-72% consistent

I haven't actually placed these in my humidor yet, but really, what do I have to worry about? I've been smoking premium cigars for about 8 months now, and I've owned a humidor for almost 7 months. I've used Ci-gel crystals supported by Water Pillows, and for the last 5 months, Ci-gel supported by Boveda 72% packs (two 2oz Ci-gel jars and 2 Boveda packs laying beside and slightly over the jars on one side of my divider with my cigars on the other with my hygrometer attached to the lid of my cherry Capri 50-count humidor.) I find the crystals supported by the Boveda packs provides the most stable environment for my cigars, and I only tend to lose humidity when the crystals shrink, which seems to take forever (I live in central Indiana,) or when I get low on cigars. Lately I've been switching over to Xikar everything if I can. I have the Xikar MTX Multi-tool Cutter on my keychain, a Bugatti B-1 Torch lighter that I got as a bonus item from cigar.com that started having problems after using inferior butane, so I replaced that with a Xikar Element double torch with a punch cutter built in, and I've switched to using all Purofine butane (which also fixed the problem with my Bugatti lighter.) I had some technical problems with the Xikar Element, but they have a lifetime warranty on all their products, and for less than $3 I was able to return the lighter to them, and I suppose it wasn't able to be fixed because Xikar sent me a brand new lighter in box within 3 weeks of shipping the Element that I purchased on Amazon to them. If you purchase anything made by Xikar, make sure to register it on their website for warranty (they even send leather cases for their X-series cutters and all of their lighters, and the cases for the lighters are actually cut to fit each individual lighter.) So, back to the Xikar crystals; its Xikar brand, and I've had little to no problems with the Ci-gel crystals and I have complete faith in Xikar, so I'm not worried at all. I will still bolster my humidity regulation with the 72% Boveda packs (two 72% packs and two 2oz jars for a 50-count humidor and I've even removed and stopped using the Water Pillows altogether,) mainly because of the arrangement layout of my humidor; I think the two 2-oz jars fit better than one 4-oz jar would, plus by logic it distributes the humidity more evenly. If I have any problems at all with the Xikar crystals I will definitely update this review, but at this time, as a person who's become somewhat of a serious cigar connoisseur, I'm going with Xikar with everything I can. Btw, anyone investing in a good cigar lighter, I seriously recommend purchasing only Purofine butane, which is Xikar's personal brand, and seems to even clear clogged lighters that you may have used inferior butane in.
