Protect you pretty wood guns from you ugly tactical firearms.

Allen quickly became may favorite gun case company. This is another great product. for a decently low price 6 socks is a deal. I have been wanting to sock all of my pretty wood guns for a while, but many of the options end up being a bit too dear to the companies that make them. Allen's are great. They have a tag so you can mark which rifle is which. They stretch out enough to cover scopes. They are long enough to swallow all of my sporting shotguns.

I wouldn't put most tactical firearms in these as they stretch, but probably not enough to fit an AR15 with an optic.
Great concept just NOT advertised and described in enough detail.

This product is great for your average "long gun" be it a shotgun or rifle. My advice to potential buyers doing research..... DO NOT buy this exact one IF you are hoping to sleeve a scoped rifle PERIOD. The three I tried are Marlin 60 with a 32x scope, a Marlin 795 with a 3x9x40, and a Savage Axis .223 with a 3x9x40. The fabric IS NOT as stretchy as the ad will make you believe. If I had left ANY of the aforementioned scoped rifles in these sleeves it is my belief that the scopes might be damaged because IT WAS TIGHT! I was able to use all six that came in the package but, only on open sighted long guns.
Great Product - depending on color and style!

I own several Allen gun socks and decided to add some more to the collection when I bought a new Ruger rifle. I figured I would order some of the Ruger-branded Allen gun socks as well as some of the Allen tactical gun socks. I was disappointed to find that the Allen gun sock with the Ruger logo is made of a different material than the regular Allen gun socks I'm used to. The regular Allen gun socks are 100% polyester. The Ruger-branded gun socks are a 55%/45% blend of polyester and cotton. It felt rough, stretched differently, and everything from the paint to the drawstrings seemed to be of inferior quality. It was not what I've come to expect from Allen. So the Ruger-branded ones are going back for regular gray ones.

I strongly recommend the regular Allen gun socks, but I cannot recommend the version with the Ruger logo.

I hope this review saves you some trouble! If you find it helpful, let me know. Thanks.
Keep your rifles and shotguns cozy!

The Good: They fit standard rifles and shotguns easily and look great! Also camouflaged my guns in the gun safe. A definite must when storing your gun for a week or more.

The Bad: It fit my torture test of an AR-15 style rifle with large scope AND sunshade, but it was too much hassle to do on a regular basis.

The Ugly: I noticed a small hole in one, but it still functions like it should.

Pro Tips:
1. Put it on like a condom... sort of. See picture.
2. Get drawstring cord locks, but folding over the end and setting the butt on top is just as effective.
3. Find a way to label similar rifles if you get all the same color.
4. Buy more than you need... so you can buy more guns!
Thick rifle protection for under $5.

This is a great product at a great price. Thick protection for under $5. I got the 6-pack of 52 inch gray socks for $27.00 delivered or $4.50 per. The gray ones I got are a cotton/polyester blend, thick and reasonably stretchy. Other colors may be entirely different. Let me first address a couple of criticisms I read in the reviews. The company states that not all colors are made in the USA and identifies which is which; the gray I bought (and several other colors) are USA. Its not hidden in small print. You just have to actually read the product descriptions. Next, these are designed for storage, in a safe or hard case. Yes, if its on a home defense weapon kept under the bed, these will slow you down, a lot; especially if you have big sights or optics to snag. But it will fit scoped rifles. You just have to start at the muzzle, let the sock down and bunch up at the scope and then work it over. Its like putting any other sock on: don't grab the open end and try to pull it all the way on. These fit a Ruger American bolt action rifle with full scope, a .22 pump with full scope; a lever gun with open red dot sight, a double barrel coach gun with exposed "rabbit ear" hammers and two other full size but non-scoped rifles. The company warns that the sock won't fit AR type platforms. I tried an AR-15 with tactical scope and it was no go but they stated that fact and they make a sock for AR style guns. The sock itself is thick and provides a good cushion and smells like it is impregnated with Silicon (as advertised) or something. I always wipe my guns down with a lightly oiled rag anyway but the extra protection can't hurt. I like that I can move my guns around now without leaving fingerprints or cringing when I let one fall over and it bangs into one of its safe mates. For less than $5 I don't think you can go wrong; just be realistic about what it is advertised to do and use a little common sense and you should be well pleased.
