For the price I was very happy with this. Eventually it warped so much it broke but I got great use out of it for 8 years. This was very useful for "launching" my pizzas on my pizza steel and I would use a metal peel to get it off the steel when the pizza was done. I would recommend this product

This paddle is the genuine article. The wood is very, very light with no finish at all. I carefully heated it over the stove top and then applied olive oil several times until the wood was well loaded. Then I sanded it down to cut back those little fibers that always spring up when it gets wetted. Now it works very well, the pizza slide off into the oven. Before I did this the paddle was terrible, everything stuck to it and it was driving me crazy. One more thing, the handle is crazy long for kitchen use, I cut 8in off and now it's perfect.

So far so good. Nicely built and has not split. This comes untreated, to help make clean up easier and ensure a long life you should treat it. I used a conservative amount of cutting board oil, to help keep stains and water form ruining the surface. You never want to wash these or you run the risk of them splitting from warping. At the very most after you treat it with oil you can wipe it with a damp rag. When you use it you want to flour it and shake off some excess. I usually assemble my pizza on this, give it a gentle shake to check the dough isnt stuck, then slide the pizza onto my pizza stone. Nothing to it. Perfect handle length for a home kitchen, the length helpful with heavyweight pizzas and retriving pizza from the oven.

This is a great value. I have no shortage of pizza peels, but finding a long handled wood peel narrow enough to fit and maneuver in my wood oven was a challenge. That I would find one at this price point is pretty cool.
Shipping took a little longer and when I received it, it just had cardboard heavily taped around it. I thought for sure it would be damaged, but it was fine.
I've used the peel once (7 pies) and it held up fine going into the 1000 degree oven. I just use it to launch the pies and then use aluminum peels to turn and remove when done. The peel is too thick to be an all-around tool, but is perfect for launching.
