Decent small E-Tool.

This is a really tiny shovel. Much smaller than my folding Gerber E-Tool. It does fit nicely in a pack, though digging is somewhat awkward due to the size. Great for the camper, hiker, or prospector who needs to do some light shoveling to bury waste or quickly conceal some gold nuggets, but don't expect to throw up earthworks or entrench yourself with this puppy.
Tool kit necessity.

Bought this for our polaris rzr tool kit. Actually got stuck 2 weeks ago and we will NEVER leave the house again without one of these in our tool kit. Great quality, packs down into a small pouch. There is NO substitution for a compact shovel in the great outdoors.

small shovel i got to keep in my truck just in case. i haven't used it yet so i cant comment on the quality but the set up from unfolding to folding back up is pretty easy. don't expect to dig a trench with this thing, more like to have just in case i get stuck in snow. better prepared then unprepared, good buy

I hate all the negative reviews for this item. I was in The Corps, so yes I know what an e-tool is. If you buy this expecting to take it into the battlefield and use it as a weapon, dig a fox-hole with it, and use it as back-up body armor then yes you will be disappointed. Could you use this items for those purposes? Yes - except for the body armor option ...and it would take you a wee bit longer to dig that fox-hole because it's half the size of a government issued e-tool. However, for civilization purposes this product is great. It's small, lightweight, and does what it's intended for. Although I'd remove the pick-axe section of the product and use stainless steel washers to take up the extra space that pick-axe had been occupying - that's just me though. I've never needed a pick-axe out in the bush... I barely have a need for a shovel... although when I do need it for one of those off-grid and extremely unlevel camp spots I'm glad I have it. Plus I sharpened the flat edge of the shovel to be a lightweight axe for bushwhacking.
