Fun kit

Great kit... Was a little concerned that box was slightly damaged and appeared to be "open box" product. Thankfully all the parts were there.
Great train

This is an exceptional kit!! Well worth the price. Plenty of track for a simple design, but very expandable. The Locomotive was designed to easily incorporate the Lego Light kits for front and back lighting.

The only issues seem to be with the Minifigs. The crane operator is constantly complaining about the lack of ladder to the crane operators seat, and the truck driver is union so he only hauls certain loads, and refuses to deal with the non union Minifigs. The Engineer might have a substance abuse issue, as he is regulatory seen with his red coffee mug, and after the last derailment that ended in the locomotive having to be completely re-assembled, he was quoted as saying "Atleast I didn't spill my drink"
Lego cargo train.

Pricey but great. Lego trains are engineering marvels, well designed, functional and beautiful. Our 4 yr old grandson does lego with grandpa. Our little lad likes the cargo car function and enjoys doing that, with assistance from papa. Lego is probably the best toy ever made, we have been fans for more than 30 years. We look forward to doing the lego robots with him when is bit older.
Great starter set for beginners

Bought this for my 6 yr old lego fiend and this is perfect! This will take his skills to the next level, while allowing us to spend time together building the trains and the train yard. Easy to start and assemble. Lots of realistic functionality! Buy rechargeable batteries, though. Have 2 sets so that you can play while run set is recharging!
Well, it's a Lego and it's a train, what more is there to say?

My seven-year-old boy received this for Christmas. He has loved trains since he first discovered Lego Duplo trains at 18 months. He graduated to regular Legos at age five and has never stopped loving trains, so this was a huge hit and something he's wanted for a long time. He was so excited to find this under the tree and plays with it every day. The details and features in this set are awesome and it comes with plenty of track to get started. All you need to add is batteries. It requires nine AAA. The three in the remote will last a long time, but the six that power the motor will run down quickly if your child plays with the train daily. I highly recommend purchasing rechargeable batteries though, or you'll spend A LOT of money replacing six batteries about once a week. We purchased Tenergy AAA batteries on Amazon and they work great, last longer than regular batteries, and can be charged about 1,000 times.
