Good product to travel with, but expensive, compared to other options out there

Sometimes it's difficult to see if these are working as well as others such as garden of life's refrigerated varieties. I carry these while I travel abroad, usually taking 2 daily so they get expensive. Currently trying Prescript-assist probiotic-prebiotic, good reviews on amazon, no refrigeration necessary. If you need something that you can travel with once or twice a year, get these. If you travel overseas 10 months out of the year to 3rd and 4th world nations, I would do what I am doing and continue to use these until you or I find something as good or better, and better priced. If they sold these same capsules in containers of 90 or 120 or 180 I would likely buy them, but this current product is too expensive to sustain. While in the US, I always use garden of life's 400 billion CFU powder for the first 2 weeks when I get back.

When I started using UF 80 billion in the summer of 2014 it worked beautifully for my chronic diarrhea (5 stars for sure!), but beginning with product bought in December 2014 the efficacy has waned and I now feel that it's only slightly better than taking nothing at all--no idea why it stopped working for me. Since December I have made 3 purchases of the product in 2 different stores and online, all with the same disappointing results. Expiration dates from 9 mos to 14 mos after use. Stored in the fridge. I have now switched to GNC's 75 billion probiotic, which seems to be working even better for me than UF ever did. More expensive, though...
UPDATE: After experimenting with my diet, I found that eliminating yogurt (mostly) fixed the problem. I go back and forth between the UF 80 billion and the GNC 75 billion (still love the blister pack for traveling), and both work fine.

I am OBSESSED with this probiotic... pretty much addicted to it! I don't feel the same without it. Amazing for the gut and guaranteed to help with elimination. I take it before bed and 95% success in the morning!
The first time I purchased this product was at Whole Foods about a year ago. I tend to stock up when I find it on sale (recently found while traveling at Pharmaca in NM). This product is meant to be refrigerated and I am told it is compromised if not refrigerated. When I ordered it a few days ago on Amazon, I assumed it would arrive with a cold pack, but it did not, and I could even feel the warmth of having been sitting in the UPS truck. This makes me question as well, if it came from a refrigerated facility.
It's too soon to tell if I feel it is not as effective, but unfortunately won't be buying again from Amazon unless I am guaranteed it's been refrigerated and will be shipped properly to maintain its integrity. It's a premium product and I expect it to be treated as such!

I used to purchase these for appx $42 for only 30 of them at Vitamin Shoppe, where they are kept refrigerated. I found the 60-count deal for $62 a better deal from Amazon. Some posters have mentioned changes in potency since it is not refrigerated by Amazon -- I have not noticed any difference in color or potency with the Amazon product. The product I received had an expiration well in advance of when I would finish the bottle. Keep in mind that in most cases, the product is not kept refrigerated while being warehoused and only sees a refrigerator once it hits a retail store. RenewLife has been extremely helpful and open if you have questions on the product and states that the advertised potency is adjusted to account for time without refrigeration. You should store it in your home refrigerated to get the most out of it. Unlike many of the products by Nature's Way, this does not contain sc-FOSs, which is good for me, as sc-FOSs create quite a bit of discomfort for me.
This is the only probiotic my daughter's taken.
