Feels solid, very nice construction quality. Light charges up to high/full levels quickly with the crank (within a few seconds to get it up, under a minute to get it to stay there). Charges a phone very slowly when plugged into the usb and cranking. I tried it with a galaxy note 4 and it took a while to register that it was even charging, and you had to maintain a good speed consistently. It seemed like it would take about a minute to get 1% battery on the phone. So not good, but in an emergency, a potential life saver.
The clip on the back end is very solid, it is easy to hook it onto a loop by pressing it against it.

I purchased this item with my 13 year old grandson in mind. He just got a cell phone and with all kids they will forget to charge their phones. This is for those days when he is away from home and in an emergency he can still charge his phone without a charger. The flashlight is great too, but I mostly bought it for the charger. You never know when the occasion will arise when you are without power or a charger and you need a phone. This clips on your belt and away you go.

I love the idea of combining a flashlight and cell phone charger, my friends loved this device as well. It is so convenient (so useful) to just clip the flashlight to one of the hooks of my emergency go-backpack. It makes it very easy to find and use in case we need it during an emergency. You can find it by touch even in the dark. It is very user-friendly, anyone can learn to use it without need for instructions. The shape also makes it very easy to grab and hold in the palm of your friend. The light is white (similar color of a halogen lightbulb), bright and strong. Well made.

With all the latest "California is sinking" news, I thought it might be a good idea to have this thing to charge my cell and use as a light for an SOS. Then I realized I won't have anyone to call, unless I buy them one of these things, too. So I bought one for everyone I know (Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!). Then a friend pointed out that once we sink, we'll likely lose our cell towers. Why didn't I think of that??? Oh well. The light on the thing is darn good. I can still charge my phone and use it to take pictures that will sell for huge amounts of money, making up for my buying way too many of these things. And it *is* lightweight. Overall, a good buy.

I like Eton products...they have been very reliable. I recently had to endure a few nights of no power due to storms and would usually run down tablet batteries or even the phone. I read about this and the fact it charges a phone and recharges via man power, so I got it. So far it is insane how well it works. I think it is just a good idea to have a means to generate power when their is none with all the potentials of situations one can find themselves in. I have one in my car and one in the house. I just got another to take camping. Flashlight is bright...and my electronics work as well. Great product.
