Want to like the Impromptu but it falls short!

The Gerber Impromptu is a pen that I would think twice about buying again. The pen writes well but it doesn't always come out and retract when you press the clicker. I believe that it would be better if the pen twisted rather than have a click button.
The other problem I have with this pen is the glass breaker falling off the pen when I was clicking to you the pen. I haven't had it more than 3 weeks and it has fallen out. For the amount of money the pen cost, and it being a gerber product, I expected a more quality product. Hopefully gerber will address this and come out with an improved model. I am going to try to contact gerber and will keep you posted.

I have had this pen over a year . Bottom line this pen will last a lifetime , but the ink cartridge needs to be replaced in my opinion.
Off the bat i had clicking issues. It would jam or i had to pop it hard enough to cycle to close or ready the tip. After I replaced the ink with this item

The weight is above what normal pens have , but again this is no normal pen.

This pen is solid steel. It is heavy, but it doesn't weigh you down. I carry it in a shirt pocket of my uniform shirt. It comes with a cartridge that writes upside down or on wet paper to a degree. I'm very pleased with this pen. I've had other aluminum versions of a tactical pen before. This one is so handy because you don't have to remove the cap to use it. It functions perfectly, no trouble extending the pen tip or retracting with a click of the top button. Best made tactical pen I've owned. My wife carries a different brand that is aluminum because she says her purse is heavy enough as it is.
