All in all an attractive addition to our kitchen, but there were some quality issues like misplacement of some pilot holes that had to be re-drilled. Not especially easy to assemble, as these things go. The main drawback is the lack of casters. I happened to have four suitable casters and mounted them so that they are recessed underneath and not visible. This lifts the legs about a quarter inch off the floor which is not noticeable. Without the wheels this heavy unit would be a monster to move around.

The island is very nice and the top with the drop down leaf is beautiful. The problems I had was when the wooden dowels would go into there hole, the bolts wouldn't match up to there holes. So I had to remove the wooden dowels on a few of the corner posts, there for losing some extra support. The cam locks that are suppose to tighten down as you turn them, mine is as loose as when I put them in after tightening. At this point I was ready to send it all back, but I already had it all out and started together, didn't want to deal with trying to pack it all back up in the three big boxes. Then, after I got the top put on, lined up, and bolted down (which took some effort to make the top line up to the holes) the doors don't line up very well. One is over a little to far and rubs a little when you shut it and the other has about a half inch gap and there is nothing you can do to correct it and yes I put it all together correctly. All in all this is a nice piece that is easy to put together and looks nice, just when you pay over $600.00 after taxes, you expect it to all work correctly and not go together like a cheaper made kitchen cart. So after that being said, it is together and looks good sitting in my kitchen, the wife is happy and life goes on. Just hope mine was and is the only one that had these issues.

When this was first delivered, all three of the boxes had large, very obvious scratches that penetrated through the cardboard and styrofoam, causing one of the panels in each box to be badly scratched. After talking with Amazon Customer Support for a few minutes, they emailed me return labels for all three boxes, scheduled UPS to pick them up, and sent a replacement.

Having said that, the second shipment of the product went without any problems and I was able to build this in an hour by myself with nothing but a screwdriver and the provided Allen wrench. Looks great, is nice and sturdy, and is a perfect size.

Definitely would recommend buying a set of 2 bar stool-type chairs to complement it, probably best to choose from the list of "Customers who viewed this item also were interested in...".

I received my packages yesterday 04/18/16. A day earlier than I was expecting and I was very happy! I read each review before deciding to buy this one. I weighed the pros and cons and then decided this one would probably be the best fit for our needs.
I am only 5'2' but this island fits me perfect! It comes to just below my chest area so I don't have to bend down or reach up to do any prep work or whatever I decide to do. My husband had no problem putting this thing together, I only had to help a tad bit by holding things steady for him.
The cabinets are deeper than I thought they would be. We were able to put 2 crockpots, of different sizes, inside plus a rice cooker and some pans. So it held everything we wanted inside and more! The drawers are the perfect size for what I needed them to hold. I was able to place my silverware holder inside and still have some room left in it. The other drawer I just placed my towels and whatnots inside which was also fantastic!
I am adding pictures so you all can see just how awesome this island is.
The reason for the one-star demerit is because, as you will see in the pictures, there is a flaw of some small cluster of holes in the top. They are on the leaf, and the main top, there are about 7 clusters of these tiny holes. I don't know if this is a defect or the process which it is made, I don't see it being a major problem in the future, but I can't give perfect stars if something isn't perfect.
Other than that my husband and I are extremely happy! So I would highly recommend this island!!!

After much searching online & reading countless reviews, I decided to order this. It was so worth it! It wasn't complicated to put together. It took my husband about an hour or so to assemble with no issues. Everyone that comes over has commented on how much they like it & asks where I got it from. I also purchased the suggested stools. They don't match perfectly but it's pretty close. On a side note, I purchased 6 baskets for the side openings of the island at The Container Store that fit PERFECTLY!

If you're on the fence about getting a kitchen island, let me make it simple for you....GET THIS ONE!
