Not a great value, hard to use pump spray
Rich-Kittery, Maine✓ Verified Purchase•April 11, 2017
Hmmmm...wanted this to work better. The pump is pretty hard to use, lots of hard pumping effort and the product really didnt go very far. Unless I was way over-spraying this bottle didnt last beyond two uses. I honestly cant say that it prevented ice from forming or not.
I wont be buying another bottle.

I bought the 5 gallons to give this a fair shot. First of all its way to expensive and secondly IT DOESNT WORK like they advertise. I live in NH and we haven't gotten that much snow. Also it hasn't been that cold overall, maybe in the single digits for a couple days. My plan was to use this on my low slopping metal roof to help keep the ice dams in check. Well I have to say that it only make the ice dams worse. I did try it on the driveway before a small storm and it did not melt the snow as they advertise. It did however make the clean up easier. In the areas where I did not spray it, the snow would semi stick to the pavement and the areas where I did, the snow came right off.
So in my opinion, if you're planning on buying some snow melt, look elsewhere.

Slippery stuff!

I wrote another review of this product that Amazon did not like. I have no idea WHY they didn't like it, since they never give any specific reason, just a referral to the guidelines, so I expect this review will also be rejected by them, as I have NO CLUE WHAT THEY WANT ME TO CHANGE. It WOULD BE NICE if they gave a specific reason when they reject a review, and RETURNED A COPY so that you actually CAN, as they suggest, edit it and resubmit it. (You can't edit and resubmit something that you don't have a copy of Amazon!) Anyway...
Bought this product here on Amazon. It arrived in a plain brown box with no markings to indicate the contents. Inside was a container just like what's shown here, but the fluid inside was yellow, like cooking oil, not red like shown. There was nothing else in the box, no instructions, invoice, nothing, just this jug, and no label or markings on the jug either. I contacted the company about it and they expressed shock and surprise, and assured me they DID NOT distribute their product like that (it's illegal to ship stuff like this in unmarked containers), assured me they would investigate how this happened and said they'd mail me a label for the container. That was a week ago, I'm still waiting.
Meanwhile, today we had a forecast for temps in the twenties, and about an inch of snow in the early evening. Perfect time to test the stuff out so I filled up this sprayer that I bought for it, 1.3-Gallon Lawn and Garden Bleach & Chemical Pump Sprayer | Join the Tabor Family and Enjoy a HQ Product, Combined with our 12 Months Full Guarantee! and went to work on covering my driveway. Now, my driveway is asphalt, two cars wide (three in some places), 50 feet long, and has a 30 degree slope. You really don't want ice or snow on this because you stand a good chance of sliding down it and winding up in my neighbor's house across the street. Since this stuff came with no instructions, and there were none on the manufacturers web site, I just used my best judgement as to how much to put on. I figured a light coat should be enough, and what little info I could find seemed to indicate that about a gallon should be right for the size of the area I was doing, so that's what I was trying for (had 2 liters left in the sprayer when I finished, according to the measurement scale on it).
A short time later I got a delivery, this chair in fact, Comfort Products 60-5800T Commodore II Oversize Leather Chair with Adjustable Headrest, Black, and during the course of the delivery the delivery person was going back down my driveway then suddenly slipped and came down hard at the halfway part, then slid to the very bottom and slammed into his truck. No idea if they were injured or not (hope not) as they wouldn't respond to my yells asking if they were okay before they got in the truck and drove away, but I could see that they had quite a bit of this stuff on their back and arms after the slide. I then checked the driveway myself and found that it was as slick as if I'd oiled it. I couldn't get any traction at all trying to step on it, and I then spent the next hour spreading a 50 lb. bag of sand over it, to keep someone from getting hurt slipping on it.
How well did it work on the snow we got? The attached pictures show the driveway, and you can see I applied it a little light in some areas (the area on the right was not done as that's a parking area not being used anymore) and that for the most part it seemed to work well at keeping the driveway clear, but because of the extreme hazard caused by it being so slippery I cannot recommend it to anyone.

I love this stuff

I love this stuff. It works great for my Rocky Mountain home with a very steep driveway. Doesn't seem to hurt the vegetation or my dog. Buy it when sellers offer prime shipping but don't expect it in 2 days. Plan ahead because I use 4 of these a year.

This product did not work for us. After reading the reviews I bought this product because picture shows very dark liquid and I wanted to be sure it worked. We are too old to be shoveling snow and near Chicago we get a lot of it. This did not work for us.the first time we used it. We have not had snow since, however I will not send back because it will cost more to send back than we bought it for. We will continue to use and hopefully have better results with future snow falls. If we do I will update this review to let everyone know.
