Great to increase pool hardness

I use this to increase the hardness of my pool water. It is much cheaper than purchasing from the pool store. This is p6% pure calcium chloride.

Great way to get snow melt straight to your door, especially since it's so heavy. (I'm a 66 year old woman who lives alone and I don't have anyone to haul heavy stuff like this from store to car, car to home, so having Amazon Prime deliver to my door saves some trouble. Fair warning: the only thing bad about this product is how hard it is getting the lid off! Seriously, it was a real battle. Once that was accomplished though...product works great. Especially good results when you put down a light coating before a relatively light snowfall. No having to shovel at all. highly recommended.

First thing, unless you're a savage, getting the ring seal initially detached will take some kind of tool to get it started. Once it's partially off you can basically just pull it around though. I had a pair of pliers handy and that worked fine.
Also having a scoop on hand is probably a good idea as you'll not need to dump the entire bucket unless you have a lot of ice to handle.
This is basic chemistry, it will obey the laws of physics. In my usage in spreading it on a thick ice sheet in 10 degree ambient weather resulted in the ice audibly cracking after a few seconds of exposure and no physical stress imposed by me. Which is more or less what I expected when I got this in the first place, so it's good it does that.
A little pricy, but it does appear to contain what it says is in the bucket based on my brief experience.

I mixed some with warm water (2.5 lbs per gallon) to make a brine solution to spray coat my driveway and sidewalk before a snowfall. Worked well as a bond to avoid the first few inches from sticking. I also used the pellets conventionally - both before, and after, a snowfall to prevent & melt ice.
I'll definitely be buying more. This stuff doesn't harm concrete or lawns.

A Good Dehumidifier

My intended purpose for the CC pellets is to use them in a container to dehumidify the air in my stored RV this winter. At 96% purity they work well. We are expecting a cold winter in the Pacific Northwest this year, they should also be handy to have for de-icing.
