The new version of this harness does not work for me: digs in and is uncomfortable for my dog.

I was very disappointed, mainly because the product has changed just enough to be no longer an acceptable answer for my dog. The name changed from Sporn to YUP! on the product (see picture of the metal "webbing junction"), though Sporn is still the manufacturer. The old Sporn Non-Pulling Mesh Harness, Medium, had nice thick "webbing adjusters" (the part that goes over the shoulder) that held my dog firmly and didn't cut into my small labrador's skin/coat (almost 60 lbs at 5 years). The "elasticized mesh pad" in the front of the harness was big enough to sufficiently hold my dog's chest. Both of these pieces have changed so much that they no longer are a gentle means of walking my dog. The "webbing adjuster" is now a thin, rounded strap that cuts into my dog as she pulls. The "elasticized mesh pad" (that is "the braking stimulus") is narrower so that it doesn't fit nicely on her chest. I measured the parts with my old harness and found the length measurements were the same... it is just the widths/construction and material used that have changed. I like the color very much (brighter blue) but not the material or construction. You need a wide enough strap that it holds your dog without digging into the coat. Sorry this great product no longer meets my needs, since it was really a nice harness. (See my photos, with old vs. new materials.) (PS. I ordered a large to see if that worked better because it had the wider mesh, but the length of the "restraint cords" were so long that I could not have a close connection with my dog when I need a short leash. There would always be too long a distance between the leash and my dog.)
Works ok and fits my 11 lb mini dachshund

This is a decent harness - it fits my 11 lb mini dachshund well, and I don't think she can slip out of it unless she tried really hard. There is no easy way to attach it to her collar for security, but I'm not sure that's needed. It's "no pull" factor is minimal, but this could partially be because she's so small. The "no pull" is created by the tightening of the girth around their body as they pull, but she's so small that I don't think there is much tightening going on. Then again, she did pull less than with a traditional harness that's all nice and padded and has a leash attachment at the top. But she pulls more than with a harness with the buckle attachment at the front. I think this one will work ok for us because she's not a huge puller, and we are in the training phase, working toward loose leash walking. So when she does pull, we stop and turn around. And I reward her for walking beside me, not rushing ahead. She's beginning to catch on.
BEWARE OF YUP DOG HARNESS!!!

BEWARE of Yup Dog Harness!!! I was talking my dog out this morning early. I had bought 2 of these harnesses & have used one for a few days. My Yup Dog Harness was literally hanging on by 1 thread this morning in several places. My dog was attacked as a puppy and does not do well with other dogs now. She is precious and very loving, but is also a runner. I am throwing these harnesses away and going somewhere I can trust today to get a better harness. This harness can cause you A LOT MORE than the few bucks you are saving. Good luck. The pictures I attached need to be opened up so you can see what I am talking about.
Just get it--it works!

I didn't think this would work, but it was recommended by a trainer at PetSmart. I had tried other harnesses that had not worked. As soon as I put this on, my little corgi stopped pulling. He is 18 months and was not trained at all by his previous owner. I was working on having him 'check in' with me on walks, but he still continued to pull when I attached the leash to his collar. The first time I put this on, he stopped pulling. He now walks mostly with a loose leash. I continue to work on his watching me and checking in, especially if he spots a distraction, but his pulling has decreased tremendously. It's also very easy to put on, and appears comfortable for him.
Great Harness at a Great Price

It's ironic as I bought this "cheap" harness because my puppy managed to chew his way through four very expensive harnesses in two weeks. In frustration I purchased this harness and viola - no more Houdini. There is a grommet on the back of the harness that you can tighten to hold the harness securely in place. No matter what size your dog is, the harness will most likely will fit snugly at all parts of the body (neck, legs, chest) which is exactly what you want. I also like the furry underarm straps so it doesn't rub the fur off his armpits when we're walking. And it's nice that there aren't any "snapping" parts to accidentally get his fur or skin caught in. You just slide it over his snout and then put his front arms through the straps. In fact, it's the fastest harness to put on when we have to take him out for a quick tinkle (we don't trust him on just a collar with his strong prey drive). The only downside with this harness is that since our dog is a very strong puller, he still pulls against you when walking. He doesn't choke himself though which is nice. I would recommend that a front clipping harness is better for walking when your dog is a strong puller, but this harness is great if you are tethering him, putting him in a dog seat belt in the car, or taking him out for a quick break (and it's the best fitting harness we've ever found for our growing boy).
