Bands failed on first use after storing them away for 2 yrs

2 years of zero use of the bands (i was using dumbels and saved the bands away for some future use) and they degraded over time to unuseable. I went to go grab them and they felt significantly weaker. I then went for a simple resistance movement and they snapped. I kept seeing the bands get whiter and whiter in the closet but didnt think it was a degrading factor. Now i have a pile of useless bands that I never used. 2 starsvnecause the pull up bar is still usable.

I don't use the bands a whole lot (prefer weights) but the pull up bar I can't live without. I've had it for over 3 years now and use it regularly and it's held up great. I haven't had to replace any padding, but I'm on the lighter side (115 lbs) so not sure if that makes a difference. I also use the pull-up assist on it easily. Some of the best $ I've ever spent.
Good bands, less good pull up bar

The exercise bands in this set are great, as good a quality as you would expect from something like this. I did, however, have a problem with assembling the pull up bar--the nuts and screws weren't matched up in size I think (like the threading on the nuts didn't match the screws), so they just wouldn't go together. I'm a fairly handy person, so I sat there for quite a while basically banging my head against this impossible project. Not sure what was up with that, so I ended up never putting the thing together, sadly. I keep trying to motivate myself to go to the hardware store to get the right screws and nuts, but it's a little frustrating that I have to do that. I'm not sure how well the pull up bar actually works once assembled.

I was looking for a door frame pull up bar, and for only slightly more the Black Mountain Pull Up Bar came with 5 resistance bands. In addition there was an offer in the box for an additional free Orange resistance band that is heavier weight then the ones in the set. The pull up bar is easy to assemble, and simple to place in any door. It can be quickly removed and stored. Overall I am super satisfied with the purchase. Additionally the BMP customer support was friendly well calling about free offer.

I have had a starter weight bench for some time and had grown tired of the repetition of a normal work out which caused me to start looking for something to supplement a work out and keep it interesting. For someone looking for a more casual work out just to give some over the winter exercise this set is awesome. The resistance bands are a lot of fun as far as work outs go and by doubling or tripling up on bands you can really very the force needed. Between the doorway attachment and standing on the bands there are plenty of variability. I found the bands a little long so you need a doorway with a bit of room in front of it. There are a lot of negative criticism about the pull up bar which I cannot say I have experienced. It does not seem to bend when using it. The pull up bar has a bunch of hand positions which is kind of cool. I did put some shop rags behind where it meets the door frame to keep it from damaging the woodwork but I am not sure it really required it. Overall definitely a worthwhile purchase. I would recommend it.
