Detachable Probe is very helpful!

This detachable probe allows me to be outside of the room where I'm measuring sound levels so that I don't add noise or affect the acoustics. You can read the display without changing your aim. The probe is small and light and can be clamped in a vice or stand for consistency. Those features made my measurements much more repeatable than the fixed probe meter I had been using. I extended the probe cable with an ordinary BNC coax cable and a male / male adapter with no degradation because it is just low current audio frequency. The meter is a good basic sound meter and can also be used with the probe clamped to the display/body if desired.
