I decided to try using this in my artwork, along with my Shiva Paintstiks (since they are both listed as being a solid form of oil paint), and absolutely LOVE this. It dries VERY quickly, applies like soft butter, and is extremely opaque. It's an excellent darker than dark, black. I have used it on paper, canvas, as well as fabric. I cannot imagine being without this as part of my art supply repertoire. I can use white ink pen, oil pastels, as well as Caran d'ache neo colors, both I and II,etc., and write or paint on top of it. If you've every tried Sennelier oil pastels, my experience is that the Nissen Solid Paint Marker applies as smoothly as they do. I must say I was truly surprised with the results, after initially trying it out as one of my "mad scientist" art experiments just to see what would happen.

Also, with it being enclosed inside a twist up plastic container, it is far less messy and easy to use. It has a cover, which keeps you from having to skim off an outer layer each time you use it, like you would with the Painstiks, etc. It's just great! I would like to eventually order more, in various colors, to see if they compare to the Nissen Black.
