I don't know how this thing exists for so little money.

I don't know how this thing exists for so little money. I think this safe is more of a deterrent than anything else. I'm pretty sure I could get into it in a few minutes with a pry bar, although I haven't tried. I think a casual thief or someone without the right tools is going to have a tough time getting into it. I think for the cost that's okay though. If you're looking for a safe for the Hope Diamond, this isn't it. You probably knew that since you're looking at a very inexpensive unit. The safe doesn't really hold much, almost the entire center shelf is taken up by the locking mechanism. Installation was easy enough, just cut a hole in the drywall, pop the safe in and bolt the safe to the studs on the inside. It far exceeded my expectations for the cost.

The product came as described. The corners of the door near the hinge is a little bent on both the top and bottom. Setting the code was easy.
I cut the drywall between the studs and the installation process was smooth. My wife hung a cheap a picture over it to conceal the (the pictures seem the safe is not level, it is leveled properly).
Space is limited behind the lock mechanism, so take that into consideration when buying this safe. I added a 2x4 on the bottom to support the safe's base. Should have taken pictures to give an idea. The safe definitely is not fireproof at all, so consider what you plan to place in it.

Medicine cabinet that doesn't take up space
Tom C•March 3, 2017
We have little children getting more inquisitive and wanted a way to lock up medications though allow easy access for adults. It seemed a little overkill but for the price, I thought why not. The install went great with drywall saw and a stud finder. Talk about a heavy duty medicine cabinet! It did have sone scratches of paint on the corners of the safe. The color is cream. I was concerned with the loss of space inside the safe due to the locking mechanism but that shelf will fit standard medicine bottles comfortably. For the price, well worth the purchase and in my case, the peace of mind! I'm not going to ding a star as the price overcompensated the cons.
Great product!!

Every house I have lived in the past 20yrs (4) have had this safe. Last week my house was broken into. The thieves that broke into my house tried to use a grinder, a hammer, and a drill to get into my safe with no luck(good thing they didn't bring a sawzall). Even after that hit the key pad with a hammer, the key pad still worked! The claw hammer they used broke off inside my safe as you can see by the picture below those two metal objects are from the tip of the claw hammer that broke off inside my safe. I Can't say enough about this product! I highly highly recommend it. This safe is an exceptional value for the dollar
Easy to install, does the job well

Easy to install; just make sure you open wall up first before cutting into studs to avoid cutting any wiring. Hint: if there is an outlet or light switch directly above or below the safe it's likely there will be wires along the studs.
