Flavor is not very strong at all. Pieces are about 2" long and smooth. Nicely packaged. I am on the search for a much stronger flavor of black licorice.

The first time I tried it. I bought it at a local grocery store. I thought even at the store it was a little pricey but it intrigued me. So I bought a bag. It took me a little time to get used to because it is softer and thicker than American-Style licorice. I was not sure what to think, but within days, I really found that I loved it. I went back to get another bag but it was not sold there anymore. I could not find it anymore even though I tried about 5 different stores.
I paid a but more but ordered it from Amazon. I really recommend that you at least try it if you are a true black licorice fan. If not-- skip it...

Tastes great but could use a different type of bag

The candy tastes great and is soft to bite into. I was hoping, though, for more of a bolder/stronger flavor, but I guess that the real candies are not as intense as the fake ones.
The candy is somewhat chewy, but great for those who may have dentures or missing teeth... However, if it is put into a cooled environment, the individual candies get hard. The only thing about the product, though, is that I wish it came in some kind of re-sealable bag. I feel like, unless the candies are put into a ziplock bag or container, the air will get to the candies and make them stale quickly. (I have not tested this, though, so it is only a thought).

The taste and texture of this candy leaves a lot to be desired. After one piece I had to throw the bag away. It was like eating a piece of wax and tastes nothing like black licorice to me.

Terrific. Soft and chewy with lots of flavor. Just a little pricey. I may come back to it, but the price will make me shop around. Update: these are quite superior to Wiley's, so my first bit of shopping around came up void. the DLs are still the best.
