An excellent German product that has lived up to its reputation
Chang C Liu✓ Verified Purchase•August 25, 2023
We had an inexpensive pressure cooker long time ago, were not too impressed with the result, did not use it much. I bought this one based on past experience with other German-made kitchen products, even though they cost a lot more.
The first dish we tried with this pressure cooker is beouf bourguignon. The result is very impression. The pressure cooker "fused" the red wine deep into the beef and gave it an intense flavor. Now we use the pressure cooker weekly to cook ox-tail soup, chick stock etc. The way of controlling the pressure (hence temperature) is based on the rise of a simple mechanical plug marked with several rings. More pressure pushes the plug higher, showing more rings. Very simple and intuitive. I am very satisfied with its performance, even though I cannot compare this pressure cooker with others of similar price range.

Pressure Cooker Newbie

I had been considering a Pressure Cooker since I got the Modernist Cuisine at Home Cookbook for Christmas a few years ago. (Absolutely gorgeous cookbook if you haven't seen a copy.) I was nervous and skeptical. After researching the WMF brand and seeing it in a store, I gave it try. I am delighted. First, I read the instructions and was still very nervous. They really do try to keep you informed and aware of the safety aspects of operating one of these, but this is NOT likely my mothers Pressure Cooker. Wow! My first time out I tried a Chicken Fricassee recipe I found on Cooking Light. I used the 6.5 liter pot, I browned the chicken, sautéed the vegetables and then removed the vegetables put the chicken back in with a small amount of stock and literally, 8 minutes later the chicken was done to perfection, juicier and more flavorful than baking or frying. I popped my the sautéed veggies and carrots in, brought it back to pressure and immediately took it off the heat. Absolutely perfect meal in less than 30 minutes, including vegie prep and reading and re-reading the manual to be sure I knew what I was doing. Also, just as advertised, clean up was a breeze. Just love it, well worth it.
These are awesome!

I was looking to add a smaller 3 or 4 qt pressure cooker to my stash (there's only 2 of us). I already own a 6 qt which is sometimes too large. After months of reviews, website searches, investigations, et. al., I decided to purchase this 4.5 qt and 6.5 qt duo (still can't figure out WHY the 3 qt and 6.5 qt combo is almost $103. more). I know, I know I already own a 6 qt pressure cooker (which has been strongly suggested to me to keep - uh, ok), plus the price was decent. I did the 'water pressure' test in the 4.5 qt (after thoroughly cleaning the pot and the top) and it performed beautifully. A few reasons why I love these (I'm including the 6.5 qt because the lids are interchangeable!) is 1) the noise it makes when it gets up to pressure and it's time to lower, 2) NO WEIGHT JIGGLER (those things scare me!), 3) it comes with an additional seal AND a glass lid so that you can use them as a regular stock pot, and 4) the pot and lid are dishwasher safe (just take off the handle, which isn't hard to do). I don't only because I don't want to run my dishwasher that much. It didn't matter to me that it didn't come with any accessories - I already own 3 OXO pressure cooker accessories. Now I don't do a lot of pressure cooking, but what I have done has turned out terrific - and it has been fun. So far, so good and yes, I would recommend these.
I'm no longer afraid of pressure cookers

I'll be the first one to admit I was a big chicken when it came to pressure cookers. I guess it's natural to fear what you don't understand. Well the WMF Perfect plus pressure cooker is so simple even a baby (or in this case a chicken) can use it.
There are all sorts of safeguards built into the design that prevent over pressurizing the cooker as well as prevent newbies like me from opening the cooker before the internal pressure has been normalized.
I love it and probably use it once or twice a week now. The unit is built very sturdy. I like that it includes a pop-up gauge to help me establish the appropriate pressure (med/hi) for my dishes. Unlike the pressure cookers I've seen in the past that hiss and click and scare me to death, this cooker runs quiet.
The removable handle also makes cleanup a cinch.

This set is awesome! The two different size pans really is nice

This set is awesome! The two different size pans really is nice. You don't always want to use a large pot if a smaller one will do. The smaller one heats up faster. I have not had any issues with this set as of yet and we use use it at least twice a week. They really do hold the heat well with the thick bottom, and clean up is very easy. Only wish they came with two lids. So far this product has meet my expectations.
