We have several and use ours daily doing marine construction. The neutral on the 1/2 ton works better than on the 1/4 ton for whatever reason. Leave the come alongs and their meathooked cables home these are the best!

Great little hoist. I use this tool at work regularly. I am generally lifting 500 to 1,000 pound engine parts and it works flawlessly. I've had jets, IR's and meany off brands. Harrington is the only way to go.

This thing is a life saver in my line of work. I'm a pipefitter in the Petro/Chemical industry. Just know it's not going to lift a lot of weight, I ordered the 1/4ton (500lbs) 10' chain, for extra reach and couldn't be more pleased

I am usually good at visualizing things when given dimensions. Yet I was still surprised at how little this hoist is. I don't use it in challenging, gritty locations but as a simple hoist in my garage for loading heavier things into the back of my truck, it's a very nice piece of tooling.
