While I really like the taste of these seeds
Ron A✓ Verified Purchase•December 15, 2017
While I really like the taste of these seeds, the reason I'm rating them 4 stars out of 5 is because of the expiration date on the packages received by the seller. I'm not sure why I get seeds that have an expiration date 30 days prior to the printed date, but I can buy them at convenience store and those dates are a minimum of 3 months out. Buying a 12 pack at a time, I have 1 month to finish the box. While it can be done, there is a difference in the freshness between the two. It makes you wonder if it's worth a $.30 price difference per bag from buying here or buying in the store.
A Great Low Calorie Snack

I consider myself a bit of a sunflower seed expert. I eat them nonstop on road trips. I got these because the salted Spitz are the only Spitz sunflower seeds without sugar on them so they are exactly what I was looking for. They are tasty even after eating them for a few hours. Try eating their salted caramel for hours. Kraft seeds are great but hard to find consistently. David sunflower seeds are far too hard and the shells tend to make my teeth hurt but these seeds are perfect for that. And they are a good source of vitamin E so how can you go wrong.
Great seeds! Variety of flavors and few of the bitter (you know what i mean) ones.

Just something about this brand. I've tried a great number of the competitors, and there is just something about the way these are processed or cleaned... they just pop. They are not the largest of the sunflower seeds you can find, but if you're an enthusiast, this brand will surprise you with the variety of flavors and the quality of the seeds. Overall, I'm quite impressed with them and don't imagine I'll be going back to any of the brands I'd been trying out.
The company needs much better quality control of its products

I bought 3 dozens packs of seed. Although the exp date was March/2018 and they were all placed in freezer on arrival, seeds in many packs had severe pest damage and others had significant number of pest damage and were moldy and stale. The company needs much better quality control of its products.
I've always loved David's Sun Flower Seeds growing up and it's not ...

Delicious! I bought several bags of these in a single pack @ Turkey Hill, a store here in PA. They were on Sale, I've always loved David's Sun Flower Seeds growing up and it's not hard to impress with a Sun Flower Seed if you ask me! But after a 3-6 buy of individual bags at the store (Granted they were VERY on Sale) I bought this case and never looked back! I'm about to include it on my Amazon regular Order, with my Vita Coco! These are really a much higher quality product than Davids, I mean...there's nothing wrong with Davids, I still love them, but these truly seem to have a WAY less defective seed in the bag. Davids have some that are cracked and just BAD here and there...i mean sure it's small, David's also have a more (though not common) NON-Seed inclusion, like bits of stalk or...whatever it is, sure i don't mind the flavor/salination, but if it's tough and hard among a mouth of seeds, it's displeasure. I am def. a fan of Spitz, especially Pickle flavor! My Daughter (6yo) loves em too!. She's learning the trade :) However I will give credit to the old David's packs about a "Pro" ... ;) that's what she'll become!
