Great for absorbing water! My basement leaks like crazy when it rains, i put those socks against the wall and it has absorbed all the water without letting any go through!

The cloth cover doesn't seem to allow the absorption of much water (almost like it's been 'scotch guarded'), so these don't absorb the liquid very well. I tried using these during a fridge repair to keep the water from melting ice in the freezer from going everywhere, but it just ran under and around the socks and didn't absorb anything. I ended up grabbing some of my bath towels to mop up the water. These socks were next to worthless
