I actually love the look and functionality of this piece, but the second time we tried pulling one of the legs out to prop the extension up, it pulled all the way out, along with all the ball bearings and a broken clip that I believe is supposed to stop it from coming all the way out. I cannot find any contact information for the manufacturer to attempt to remedy this problem.

This island is stunning! My husband and I ordered it for our kitchen and we were pleasantly surprised with how solid it is. I have read other reviews about people designing their kitchen around these islands, and I thought that sounded silly for something you put together yourself, but I have to say this piece is very solid and it looks VERY high-end. The entire top is solid wood and the slider legs which pull out so you can extend the snack bar portion are easy to use and when they are pushed in, you can't even tell they're there. The only issue we ran into is once assembled the front doors kept popping open, eventually we realized the screws on the hinges which were pre-attached to the unit were just a little too tight so we loosened them just a tiny bit and that fixed the issue. Overall I would say if you're even thinking about this one go for it. It came in three big boxes, so my husband had to have a friend help get them in the house, but it only took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get together.

I just got this today. It came in 3 boxes, each piece individually wrapped and surrounded by chunks of styrofoam. The boxes each had a small indent in them but did not effect the island at all. It was very easy to put together. The top, and 2 side pieces were in their own boxes and did not need assembling (besides screwing the hinges from the large portion of the top to the smaller portion). Then assembling the main part was very easy the only part that gave me any trouble at all was the drawers, the screws were very hard to get in but I still managed just fine. It took me about 2 hours I'd say and that was taking my time and having my toddler playing inside of it while putting together. I have noticed there are little "holes" that others have mentioned and pictured. It doesn't bother me though, I knew that was a possibility when purchasing this island. I love this and wouldn't change a thing.

Took about 5 hours for my buddy to put it together. It took about 1.5 hours to unpack it. It came in 3 large VERY heavy boxes that I had to beg the UPS guy to get it into the kitchen. He had to role the boxes into the house. The boxes were approx. 130 pounds each. Shipping was free with this which I have to say is an amazing deal. Had I not been home the UPS guy would have left this in front of the garage and that would have been a nightmare. The packaging was ingenious but it was an ordeal to unpack the boxed crates that held the huge heavy pieces especially the granite top which was beautiful and came without a hitch. As with a monster like this shipped from China there was a crack in a piece of the wood but on the inside of the side piece that wasn't noticeable at all once this was put together and had no structural purpose. That said, this piece is gorgeous and very expensive looking. Don't order this with the chairs because that will cost you over $400 for the chairs and we got 2 gorgeous bright orange modern "deco" looking chairs on here for a about $150 for both. You can't go wrong that way. Make sure you order the one with the granite top because it's offered in both styles. The pieces overall fit together well and have a very high quality look. The doors close but the magnets holding them closed are somewhat light duty and the doors aren't perfectly aligned. Not noticeable but it does make it harder for the left door to hold closed as tightly as the right one. Overall they work fine. Directions were okay, but make sure you put the sides on the correct side and the leaf side of the table on the correct side or you'll end up with the whole thing backwards and you'll need to unbolt the sides and top and switch them around. That took about 1.5 hours. HAHA. Fun. Said and done, it looks great, came in good shape, and looks awesome in the 1940 semi updated kitchen making the kitchen look expensive and worlds better then it did. Just make sure you have a helper because this thing is a monster.

Putting this together was horrible and my husband is a jack of all trades! Took him a whole day!! The drawers were the worst they didn't put the liners in the correct spot so had to move them.... A lot of the screw holes were not aligned correctly... Just an all around headache! And now that it's put together it looks on not sure of the countertop part it seems to not want to come clean very easy and smudges just from normal clean hands touches.... And the extending leaf part had tiny pin holes in it prolly from bugs being in the wood before it was milled.. Basically my review is its just "ok"!!
