Dusty, dusty rinse throughly several times.

Very dusty and dirty at first. Must rinse several times. As your roots grow through it you'll pick up some of the red dust. I didn't rinse them good enough. But didn't cause any problems with the roots. More than enough pieces to fill the 6 in Bucket Basket with plenty left over. Will buy again, easier to get through Amazon than going to walmart or home depot (which by the way don't carry this type) or at least I haven't found them yet.
Too many tiny pebbles

Too many tiny pebbles and more broken fragments than I would like. The tiny ones fall right through my net cups. These are just not very uniformly made. After this purchase, I found a 5 lbs. bag at a local store for $3 less, and much better quality. I will not buy this product again from here.

Great for my orchids! Only leaks a clay tinted water when you first rinse them out and then doesn't after.

Very small bag. If you don't need too much, it is ok. Otherwise I suggest you buy a bigger bag. I had to buy another bigger bag after this.
