I recently discovered coconut oil has been used for skin care, and my face tends to get red from heat. I'm super tired of using man-made, synthetic garbage that works for short periods of time; who knows how healthy that would be in the long run?! I had another brand of coconut oil, and while I used it for 2 consecutive days, its container didn't give much information on where or how it was harvested. I read the best coconut oil to use on skin was unrefined, cold-pressed, and expelled by the manufacturer. I found another brand that claimed they did this, but the price didn't match the amount given, and neither did the reviews. However, I came across this brand via the article I read explaining how to use coconut oil as a facial wash, and I was very impressed with the farm-to-table attitude the company has. Not only does it work wonders on my skin, but it smells outstanding and tastes terrific! Although this process is still new to me, I'm loving the results. My face improved dramatically overnight, and it is extremely encouraging to want to continue every night. I cannot recommend this brand enough!

I was very pleased with this coconut oil until today. I use it for oil pulling when I can remember to do it. Probably a couple of times a month. When I used a tablespoon to grab some today, the entire side of the jar is completely hollow which is very annoying.

I usually purchase Spectrum brand coccnut oil and it it always delicious and smells like a day at the beach. I gave this brand a try and the smell was offensive, like they just stamped a good use by date on some old oil from 5 years ago. Horrible odor. So since the last 2 purchases from Amazon were smelly old oils I have been buying local. I purchased this a while back, I immediately threw it out but I remember the expiration date was 2018. Do not purchase this brand!

I highly recommend Nutiva's Coconut Oil! This brand has some excellent stats: comes in a non-BPA container, no hexane, non-hydrogenated, USDA organic, non-GMO verified, unrefined, vegan, 0 grams Trans Fat and no refrigeration required. It's solid at room temperature however it easily melts in my hands or can be melted in the microwave (melts at 76 degrees). Coconut Oil has many excellent health and beauty benefits - just take the time to look it up online and you'll find all the wonderful benefits of it. Personally, I like to use it for moisturizing my dry skin in the winter, especially right out of the shower. It's an excellent oil to use in your hair as a mask before showering or to leave in over night to improve shine and luster. It's excellent to use for cuticles and hand lotion. Has many healing properties. I'm still learning about all of the benefits of using this oil. I also recommend using it for a moisturizing mask overnight on your face during the winter. You'll wake up the next day with super soft skin! This oil also has a subtle coconut aroma and has a nice subtle taste to it. I use it to moisturize my lips overnight and haven't experienced chapped lips yet this Winter! The back of the container notes it is very versatile and can be ideal as a "medium heat cooking oil" and is "better than butter" on items such as popcorn, bread, etc. This oil is a very nutrient based substitute in baking and I'm looking forward to trying out that aspect of coconut oil! I keep a tub near my nightstand for massage and beauty and plan to purchase another one for the kitchen.
