I really like Zumba and this set was great

I really like Zumba and this set was great. I really don't like Beto's over saturated sex appeal, but I do love the workouts. It is so much better when I can turn his voice down and listen to the music instead of his "Si's" and " Oooh's". When I lived in AZ, my friends and I frequented a salsa club every Friday night so this is appealing because it reminds me of those days. Latin dance is a great way to exercise without feeling like you are working out. I love the variety of workouts this collections offers. I mix it in with my other workouts throughout the week for variety. It's great in places where you can't get outside a lot. I live in the Rockies and am not a big winter sports person so this is a nice way to keep exercise going when it is 20 below.
The real deal!

Love it! I have taken the live classes which are amazing and wanted to simulate that exhilarating experience at home when I'm short on time. I tried the original Zumba set but was disappointed that it was so much like every other exercise video. Especially because the instructors talk to the whole video. Not with the set. The set feels so much more like the real classes The music is exciting, the energy is high, instructors do not yammer through the entire video, although you have the option to have voice over instructions if you want it.
This whole video series is beautifully done and has set the bar at a whole new level for exercise videos to come..

Disc 1 is a tutorial and I love that it was included. I used it 3 or 4 times before I tried to tackle the other discs. My husband has attempted the tutorial once so far. He hasn't had any dance before so it is challenging at this point. We have both been to Zumba classes at our Senior Center and make it 50 minutes through the session before our bodies and brains give out at the same time. It is nice to be able to get better and build some stamina in the comfort of our home as we have a large area to use for working out. My husband bought this set for me for Christmas. I intersperse one of these with other workout DVD's about every 2 weeks. Great aerobics and cardio AND coordination which we need at this stage of our lives. One of these days we will show up at the Senior Center and show them what we can do and how much we have improved since our last class there!
It is also FUN! That is what counts.

Zumba has become for me a great, great way to get in shape. I can't say for most people, but I hate working out. It is one of the most boring things in the world. I was skeptical when I first heard about their infomercials, as most infomercial products usually come & go. But I was attracted to the idea of 'for people to who love to dance, but hate working out', so I bought zumba total body transformation. I have that & exhilarate, so I can compare both.
Pro: This dvd set has a lot of different dances, & for me this is a good thing, so I can work out as I go through all the dvds. However, like some other people have said, it is very fast paced. They do have a step by step dvd where they break down the basics, but they mostly give you a few pointers & they expect you to hit the ground running. There were some beginners that complained it was TOO fast, but I don't see why you can't just hit rewind / replay. I think they go faster in this dvd b/c they want to cram more stuff into it. I love the 'mix' dvd, where you get different types of dance from around the world. I have to come realize that I love axè & samba! & I didn't even know what they were!
Con: I can not stand how they filmed the fitness concert. They are constantly switching angles, (i.e. from the side, from above, the audience, to see the huge crowd) to the point where it's distracting & I would just like to watch the instructors to follow the cheoreography. they have a 'ripped' dvd for toning, but I wish there was a breakdown of what we are toning. i.e. the total body transformation has a specific 'ab' section, where you can just work out your abs.
overall I think this is a great buy. Tip: if you dont want a fast paced work out, total body transformation generally is slower. And if you can get the dvds without the toning sticks, that would be great. (Get ordinary weights they can cost like $5 whereas the 2 lb toning sticks cost $25) That will shave some money off the total price. Learn some new moves, have fun, & lose weight along the way!

If you want to learn how to dance, improve your coordination, feel sexy & confident, have fun, and listen to good (non-cheesy) music, this might be a good workout for you. For the number of DVDs you get, this is a great value. Even though Zumba is "a workout anyone can do," the beauty of it is that it keeps you coming back for more so you actually reach your fitness goals. The 1st CD is a basic steps cd that takes you through the moves step-by-step. It has a nice "back view" feature that really helps you emulate what they are doing. You can spend hours happily trying to master the basic salsa, reggaeton, and cumbia before even starting the basic workout video. It's also good at incorporating ab flexing, hip rotation and arms. The day after a workout my muscles feel just as sore as is if I'd been lifting weights. I've had this set for a year and I feel like I'm a better dancer, and I have a good sense of rhythm. Plus, I lost 30 lbs. after giving birth to my son, and Zumba is at least partly to blame!
