Easy to insert. Make sure you have extra insulation, though. Our window isn't square, so had to fill the gaps. One disappointed note, the flap was not packed flat in the box, so upon removal had a BAD curl in the bottom. It would not line up with the magnet. I tried laying the window in the sun to see if the heat would straighten it out, but it didn't. I contacted the manufacturer (instead of the seller), and they FedExed a replacement flap the day I called. New flap inserted and it works wonderfully. Taking a little time for the cats to get used to it. They get confused by the glass windows on either side of the flap. Time will tell how well it works when the weather gets colder, but I don't think it will be any colder than the normal window would be.

My cat and I both like this better then the plastic door flap model. This heavy vinyl flap has a magnet at the bottom and when it's closed with the plastic cover there is no question of whether it's locked or.not. It is the best one I've tried and over the years I've had three different kinds.

So far so good on this dog door! We couldn't install a door in the back door, and we thought we were going to have to cut a hole in the wall. Then I found this! Bought it through the Warehouse for less, taking a chance it might be damaged. It came quickly and was just fine.
I didn't find the instructions at first and so didn't quite know how to put it in, but it was pretty simple to figure out. It looks clean and tasteful in the window, and my little dogs are already getting used to it. They are so used to hollering at us to let them out (and in and out and in and out and in and out) that I don't think it's dawned on them yet that they can come and go as they please. But we've been refusing to let them out the back door, instead reminding them they can go out their dog door and encouraging them in that direction. I fully expect they will be pros at racing in and out within a few days.

The door was very easy to install and works as described. The door flap clicks into place magnetically after the cat comes through , which I like because it helps keep bugs out.
We bought the small size first (which is the one pictured in my review). It took a day or two for him to get used to using it, but I think that it was a size issue. Our cat is a slim, 7 lbs or so. The small size was a tight fit for him...almost comically so. We ended up having to buy a medium, which is perfect for the size of an average cat. It is even big enough to accommodate our larger cat, who has plenty of pudge. They are now both able to fit through comfortably.
I recommend this product but would advise anyone with an average or larger-sized cat to save themselves the trouble and go straight for the medium.
