This is my second Fire Sense heater, the 4 year old model required a new regulator and still works great. The metal fire grill is starting to deteriorate on the older model. Both units are quick to start and provide an excellent heat source for those outside cold evenings.

I gave this to my father as a Christmas gift - you know, the item for someone that already has everything! It arrived on time and without damage. He loves it and made the comment it took longer to get the blue plastic protectant coating off the parts then it took to put it together, he is 70 years old. It is a nice heavy weight metal and he was pleased.

Well, You get what you pay for... and that is just fine. I purchased the Fire Sense "commercial" patio heater as returned merchandise at a steep discount of the exact same model on Amazon. The package arrived as promised, however the packing container looked as if it had been dropped off the delivery truck at highway speed., it was battered, abraded, and soiled with several puncture holes in the box. Undeterred, I open the box and found all major parts present and in remarkably good condition. The decorative tank surround had taken on a decidedly oval shape from it's original round shape, but the flame head, posts, supports and decorative base were unblemished and in good shape. The disappointing thing was the absence of most of the assembly hardware, The plastic container used to hold water or sand in the base of the unit for stability in a breeze had sustained multiple punctures and appeared to have been crushed on one side at some point. Not to worry. A trip to the big box home improvement store for $8 worth of hardware, and a trip to the garage for a 25 pound weight lifters plate solved all problems. If you are wondering about all of this be advised I am not complaining. After completing assembly in less than an hour, (not counting the trip to the store) I fired that baby up on the first try and despite listing about 3 degrees from vertical she is putting out a welcome amount of heat on this 40 degree afternoon. I did add the $56 larger and sturdier reflector (Fire Sense 61437 1-Piece Heavy Duty Reflector...) as many buyers complained that the original warped and corroded quickly. Even with that reflector accessory purchase I still came out ahead on buying the returned merchandise unit. Happy New Year.

I was impressed with this product from time I opened the box and saw how well labeled the parts were. I put it together, fired it up, and loved the heat it put out. It seems as good as commercial units I've seen at restaurants. I'll go back and update this review if any problems arise after using it more, but for now, I'm a happy camper.

The heater seems to work fine. I was disappointed when I pulled it from the box and the base cover had a huge dent. I wanted to send it back but like most things I needed to use right away.
