My 5 year old LOVES these. These are great for chubby little hands that are learning to write with a regular pencil. Make sure to read the proper way to use these - if using for a right hand, place the thumb ON the "R" that is etched on it. The other fingers fall into place. (And, obviously, if using in the left hand, place the left thumb on the "L".) These work beautifully. He now gets out his handwriting papers, without argument, because of these.
